billbennettnz I'm getting people tell me they like the music, but don't want all the permissions and privacy abuse that comes wth Soundcloud. Is there another, less intrusive, indie web friendly way to publish music online and find an audience?

billbennettnz Ah... yes, I see. Five years ago that wouldn't have been a concern because the open web was... well, more open, these days everything is much more siloed making it so much harder to be seen and heard

billbennettnz Maybe I post versions to Soundcloud for visibility and to my own indie website for non-privacy invading access, let the SC crowd continue to do its thing and send direct links to my non-invasive site to friends and so on
#
billbennettnz Actually that feels like a good strategy for now.
