[Al_Abut] Also I really enjoyed your attempt to explain the German educational system. Was I off base or overly American about my reaction to vocational schools?

[Jo] No, I remember when i heard about the American approach and how basically everyone goes to college. i was like woah
#
[Al_Abut] I love the community college system here in California, I wish the idea of continuing education was more widespread in the states and also globally
#
[Al_Abut] I have a feeling I’m going to get addicted to taking classes there like my mom did, she ended up having an entire second career as an artist because she couldn’t stop learning cool new stuff

[Jo] I get that! I'm probably going to take a lot of extra classes too

[Jo] They have chinese as a language course here i'll probably take that too

[Al_Abut] It’s embarrassing that I can’t speak Spanish. I think I resisted it when I was younger because I looked like someone that could 😂

[Al_Abut] But also I was just excited that they had German at school. I have fond memories from elementary school of visiting my aunt and cousins in Krefeld, and a summer we spent in Frankfurt when I was 12.
