[snarfed] agreed re media coverage. journalism is a very big spectrum, there's obviously plenty of crap, with bad incentives, but there's also lots of good, well-researched stuff, and outlets that carefully control their incentives to good ends. and of course even the good stuff isn't perfectly consistent, as witnessed by those two contrasting Verge articles
