[morgan] Even if one just writes down a few of the stats that's useful for memory like I swear they don't allow you to look at old ones/all gets cycled out

[morgan] I was a top 0.5% listener apparently for 3+ years, I wish I had taken a few more notes or screenshots
#
[social] I really like http://Last.fm summaries, but my app that feeds http://Last.fm keeps crashing with out any notification.
#
[Trevor_Morris] http://Last.fmhttp://Last.fm puts some stats behind paywall.
#
[Trevor_Morris] My stats almost match Spotify Wrapped.

#
[morgan] I think the main thing is for me I just wish I had a few lists of songs I thrashed on and revisiting some of the heavily repeated songs takes me back to a real time and place

aaronpk i heard about youtube recap on NPR this morning https://blog.youtube/news-and-events/youtube-recap-2025/
#
daemonspudguy TIL that that's a thing. Also, hello, I'm Jacob. They/them pronouns plz&thx. I will be wok
#
daemonspudguy *wikiing my name with details at some point.
#
daemonspudguy I am typing on a phone right now and as a result it's quite easy to prematurely send messages.
#
daemonspudguy I don't really stream music so I don't really understand or can do these Spotify Wrapped or Apple Music Replay or, I dunno, if Tidal has one whatever it's called things.
#
daemonspudguy Which considering the fact I'm 21 is somewhat of a rarity for people of my age.
#
daemonspudguy If anyone is curious, the IRC client I use is WeeChat, and I'm accessing it from my phone via the app WeeChat-Android, which is by far the best way to use IRC on Android because literally every other method is either unstable dogshit or the Quasseldroid remote client for the seemingly dead Quassel IRC client yes I'm one of those people with opinions on IRC clients.
#
daemonspudguy I have had a blog since 2015, jacobatice.com. It used to be a self-hosted WordPress site but when my dad who pays for hosting switched to using WordPress.com for his site I converted it to a static site on GitLab Pages. Currently it's hosted on and generated by Netlify from a repo on GitLab.
#
daemonspudguy I went with Hugo because its particular Markdown format works and it seems to be a more supported SSG than Jekyll.
#
daemonspudguy Posts are very infrequent because I often don't have anything I need to post there because it's too long to put on Mastodon or Bluesky, where most of my posting is done nowadays, but the website is also useful for having a centralized catalog of links to my various social media pages online and domains are cheap so my dad keeps paying for it, thankfully.

Curlie-Chris We just made our web directory listing millions of personal web sites open source. You can get it at https://curlie.org/download
#
Curlie-Chris Just checked, IndieWeb ist listed prominently on Curlie, under https://curlie.org/en/Society/People/Personal_Homepages
#
Curlie-Chris Would be great if you could add curlie to your list of directories https://indieweb.org/directory#Examples_In_The_Wild

#
Curlie-Chris We put our Curlie info out there on Mastodon only, no Bluesky. We are thinking about linkedin.
#
aaronpk there's an awful lot of additional sites you can add to this category: https://curlie.org/en/Society/People/Personal_Homepages
#
aaronpk here's a list to start from :-) https://indieweb.org/chat-names
#
Curlie-Chris Yes, personal pages is the section where there's always gadzillions of pages missing; Good thing: You can submit them yourself any time you want. Even register as an editor and manage a whole category yourself :-)

crowdersoup Wanted some analytics for my website but I didn't want to send any of that data to a third party so I built my own analytics. Here's the blog post!

Curlie-Chris Crowdersoup, for Analytics keep in mind: Without filtering the normal bots, you'll over-estimate the visits by a factor of a least four. With AI scouring the web, this factor will be much higher nowadays.
#
crowdersoup Yeah, that's what I'm seeing with my first iteration. Some traffic that's obviously bots, either AI, or folks looking for security vulns.
