ulhar4409one "site idea" i've had but haven't tinkered on is a "community tagging site" slash feed aggregator, sort of combining discovery-by-tags from silos with indieweb stuff
[morgan]Theres a lot of knowledge management thought that can go into tagging systems, which can maybe be done some degree of private or public on the web. Theres always interesting potential there, the idea would need some ironing it , I would suggest, regardless of how its used. Just in general really figuring out if its worth building is a good idea with time and effort.
[morgan]Per the second line - I dont think you would find necessarily an audience here, but you might find some. The internet is not really the internet if there were no furries on it somewhere and making more independent websites somehow I guess is good for them as much as anyone else hah
[morgan]It's possible to nerd out hard like thinking about where to store the tags, do you associate it with an object like a tag itself and then instances of the tag attached, or do you have objects like things and then attach tags to it. And who gets to add the tags and the visibility of the tags
[morgan]I think its cool that someone explored this idea as far as they have, but then again some things are up for questioning about their simplicity or claims. Its a bit heavy on the claims
[morgan]I think my internal senses get a bit suspicious of how complex this idea is. Like yeah whats so different to just hosting a stylesheet on your own website and then having it linked somewhere else. Thats like a lot fewer things happening than this has going on. And it uses React Router?? Server Components? my internal senses tell me this may not be a long-lived durable experiment. But yet, its cool that its happening.
ulhar4409randomly thought of doing the "post full art to 'superior' silo, post snippets to 'inferior' silo" thing that some furry artists do, but the superior silo is my website
ulhar4409most of the time it's a tactic to get people to go to the silo the artist in question likes better, but for me, i don't generally like silos, so...
ulhar4409~~it would be funny if i syndicated to bsky with some crop and then syndicated to mastodon with a less narrow crop though. subtle hierarchy of preference~~
