[artlung]That's a very thoughtfully drafted post. And⦠1.5 million websites. I don't know what I imagined the number was, but that's more. Nicely done neocities++
ulhar4409Somehow I'm not really surprised; even without a "known reason", the same things i like about neocities are probably things that microsoft would dislike
raidevim not understanding how h-cards work, do i just give an element a specific class to add the text to the card? cus it doesn't seem to be working.
[artlung]Looking at the indieweb page for "search" https://indieweb.org/search ~ some gardening needed there. I'll probably be looking at that. search is a term that could absolutely use better disambiguation up top, as Google and DDG or whatever are relevant, but tooling, specific search, discovery, and other tools need to be mentioned. And llm traffic and summaries and robots.txt as well.
[tantek]1[artlung] IMO for our wiki purposes, the focus of any generically named topic page like "search" should be specific to the *feature* on indieweb sites in particular, and all other meanings should be secondary or moved to other pages.
LoqiDuckDuckGo is a search engine and also the name of a web browser which focuses on privacy; the search service supports a !indieweb hardcoded shortcut for searching the IndieWeb wiki, and is used for a personal site search feature by at least one IndieWeb site https://indieweb.org/DDG
LoqiGoogle Search is how Google started, a web search engine, and supports indexing and highlighting results with microformats, like IndieWeb event posts https://indieweb.org/Google_Search
Kaptan, duanin2, oodani, gordinator, blacklight, barnaby, duckito, ax562, btrem, ttybitnik, failxontour and CrimeWave joined the channel
[morgan]Cant join today but wanted to leave a message saying an enormous thank you to people who have contributed on recent homebrew website clubs. It really helped me prepare a good presentation on my website today
[tantek]1I thought I had better documented what / why to post on the wiki but it seems I have neglected that (I blogged about it a bit but forgot to summarize / add to wiki)
