bubbybumbleI might look into self hosting, are there benefits to doing it this way on your own hardware or is it probably better to use a cloud service to avoid losing access due to power outages/corruption and whatnot?
[morgan]@bubbybumble basically its a tradeoff for what you just mentioned, it also kinda varies depending on what your doing with the website i.e if it has a database. Also generally you need an extra machine that would have to be dedicated to it. I'd say this is an area where cloud makes sense
Loqiself hosting is the practice of running the software for your personal website on hardware under your own physical control, typically on a home server, or sometimes refers to only the aspect of running web applications on a (possibly virtual or shared) server under your control but not necessarily in your home https://indieweb.org/self_hosting

[r1y]I try to link the object and any description in a sentence, eg: "I found this really great website about such and such" - I would link "really great website about such and such". sometimes i just link "click here" because i dont think it matters and I also believe some people simply need to be told _where_ to click sometimes π
