Im trying a slightly different format of posts out on my website, where maybe every month I will post a https://www.morganwebdev.org/posts/list-of-lists-may-2026/. Basically just bullet point lists of topics or stuff thats interesting to me. In my head this is meant to be a practical way to still post something of an update but also allow for it to be brief, since it could be random or several topics. The main point is that these are not

generated also just like, this was direct.

Curious if anyone has good thoughts to share, ways to adjust it etc.

Stonepick - I've added in the TBR - don't know if I'd be able to finish it this month. Thanks for hosting

The bridge between Bsky and Fedi has recently become way more awesome (with the li'l webpage where you can reply, like, or reblog with interactions from unbridged people. Love that!).
#
sandra
[snarfed], It used to be that once we did that, we could never ever undo it in order to instead use that domain for a "real" account. Is that still the case?
#
sandra
So now I want to set my domain to the bridge and I found an easy guide now how to do that but I just have one question:
#
sandra
(I might still consider doing it but if it's no longer the case, i.e. if you now can undo the domain assignment, it becomes a no-brainer and I'll do it immediately.)

I love the ideas of stickers as an entry point into a topic.
#
[capjamesg]
I sent a fellow blogger a microformats sticker and they wrote “The microformats one I had to look up, to be honest. Prompted by this search, I’ve now added those to my website as well”

yesterday I went through and deleted a handful of email aliases (to my domain) that only get spam now. reminded me I need keep creating new ones for services so I can continue with such cleanup as needed. it does seem to make a difference (I don't know why some spammers only harvest obscure aliases, like they're not smart enough to or don't care enough to find "main" aliases)
#
[tantek]
or perhaps these are aliases that got leaked via data breaches so the more evil spammers (phishers etc.) seem to be focusing on those. perhaps sloppy services getting data breached is another reason to give out aliases to random sites that need them so when they get breached, it's less cleanup work (delete the alias)

🐔 chicken is a type of post supported by idnoKnown, and were initially a proof of concept for post-type plugin development, but high levels of chicken interest in the community has driven further development https://indieweb.org/chicken

how do people like to repair links in old posts? like invisibly just updating them? or replacing with Internet Archive copy as of the time of your post? or some mix of both?
#
[tantek]
I am leaning towards "simple" replacement with the IA copy as near to the my post publication datetime as possible, with a parenthetical about when the original was found to be broken. Going to try that to see if it sticks
#
[tantek]
I decided against linking to an updated (where the link is now, was redirected to at some point) because that information was both not known at the time of the post, and can be derived if someone is really curious by navigating the provided Internet Archive copy
#
[tantek]
also moving any broken shortlinks to said parenthetical since putting them first would likely mislead a reader (human)

updated post with repaired link. that might be enough to start a stub page. I suspect others here occasionally repair links in their posts and it would be good to start to gather indieweb examples to see if there are any patterns we can generalize from
#
[tantek]
what is link repair
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "link repair" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "link repair is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
[tantek]
link repair is the practice of repairing broken hyperlinks on your personal site, especially on older posts where the links were valid as of the time of the post but have stopped working since.

link repair << IndieWeb Example: {{t}} repaired a link in https://tantek.com/2010/031/t2/world-moving-to-html5 to use an Internet Archive version, noting in a parenthetical that the original link and its shortlink were found to 404 as of a more recent date, thus also implying the date of repair. The original post test including old shortlink is still viewable at the Twitter syndicated copy.
