[tantek] or perhaps these are aliases that got leaked via data breaches so the more evil spammers (phishers etc.) seem to be focusing on those. perhaps sloppy services getting data breached is another reason to give out aliases to random sites that need them so when they get breached, it's less cleanup work (delete the alias)
