[aciccarello]GWG, on the subject of social readers I wish activity which as likes wouldn't be shown the same as a blog in my RSS feed. I hide a lot of activities because I don't want them to be noisy.
lesleylaiI usually go to people's websites to read. RSS readers only provide the minimum reading experience (similar to the browser reader mode). They usually can't handle interactive demos, sidenotes, etc.
lesleylaiI think it depends on whether a website's style adds something or serve as distractions. For sites I follow via feeds, it's usually the former.
wturrellI’m finding that there’s a far higher proportion of IndieWeb sites worth reading in a browser just because so many of them have unique or creative designs. RSS is mainly good for filtering out clutter, both within posts, but also “busy” sites where a lot of posts simply aren’t worth reading or the title tells you all you need to know
wturrellIt'd be nice if there was a (feedbin.com compatible) feed reader that remember your per-site preferences: e.g. show whatever's in the RSS, "extract full content", or take me to the site itself

morganwebdevRegarding RSS and seeing site style and design, I think I just interpret this under the over-arching umbrella principle of seeking calmness and quietness amongst the potential chaos. Once I find a link thats fresh or good stuff from my RSS bookmarks in a calmer reading update environment, then I go and dive into the site often to see changes/what its like
[Trevor_Morris][Al_Abut] I've been thinking about some topics for September’s IndieWeb MovieClub, in case someone doesn't choose one. Here's some suggestions;
[Mike]I’ve never heard of The Invite before, but it sounds like it could be a good double feature with The Invitation, a decent little indie thriller that sounds sort of like its evil twin. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wcFaLtnx43w&ra=m

Loqi[preview] [Tantek Çelik] Due to recent reports about “AI”/LLM/“agent” tools and services, I have growing concerns that the #security properties of the open web are changing, or have already changed, in practice, to a degree that we haven’t seen in many years.
