#methinks Citation can happen by pingback (e.g. webmention) as long as metadata about the assets involved is auto-discoverable #SDSvoc

#
KartikPrabhu
err what does that mean?
#
Zegnat
I think it means letting someone know you have cited them, which only works if the citation on your page can be discovered through an algorithm to figure out exactly what you cited?

aaronpk, is there some reason http://indieweb.org does not redirect to https://indieweb.org ? I find myself constantly using a mixture of the two when providing people with links
#
cweiske
aaronpk says some images are not linked via https, so they will break when all is https
#
Loqi
[aaronpk] my primary (only?) reason for not redirecting the wiki to https always was that a bunch of the pages hotlink http images
#
Zegnat
Ah, thank you cweiske!
#
cweiske
was surprisingly hard to find with chat search :/

What do people who have split their sites up into multiple services use for logging and tracing between them?
#
aaronpk
manually inspecting log files...
#
KevinMarks
Looking at this from datawire that works cross language https://www.datawire.io/distributed-logging-express-js-request-winston/

what is IndieAuth
#
Loqi
IndieAuth is a way to use your own domain name to sign in to websites — it's like OpenID, but works with services you likely already use, and is much easier to setup https://indieweb.org/IndieAuth

#
tantek
aaronpk - per your point about IndieAuth protocol support - there is no obvious mention of the IndieAuth protocol at the top of https://indieweb.org/IndieAuth
#
aaronpk
:sigh:
#
tantek
so there's no way I could implement my own endpoint for woodwind to use anyway
#
tantek
what is the indieauth protocol?
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "indieauth protocol" yet. Would you like to create it?
#
aaronpk
suspects that after WebSub, writing up IndieAuth as a proper spec will be next on his list
#
tantek
that problem
#
aaronpk
indieauth protocol is [[IndieAuthProtocol]]

#
aaronpk
the spec is kind of split up into a bunch of wiki pages at the moment
#
tantek
indieauth protocol is /indieauth-for-login
#
tantek
lol double-redirect
#
tantek
that's good enough for a start
