KartikPrabhu, sl007 since Coral Project is open source there's at least hope that it can be patched to support mf2, webmention
#
tantek
what is Coral Project?
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "Coral Project" yet. Would you like to create it?

#
sknebel
KartikPrabhu: ? look the same for me.
#
sknebel
and apparently I should have kept the check for a comma after the URL
#
sknebel
since the idea was "X is $url, a ..." -> "[$url X] is a"
#

and I didn't think about the "naked" case, without further definition when leaving that check off

GWG
What should go in an h-card? I am once again going on a pointless deep dive.
#
tantek
GWG, for any plumbing question like that, start with, what are the documented use-cases?
#
GWG
tantek, this comes from the question I posed the other day about where we left partial h-cards linked to an expanded version.
#
tantek
asking plumbing questions in the abstract (disconnected from real world (documented, citable) user needs) tends to result in unnecessary overdesign, risking falling into the architecture astronomy trap.
#
GWG
I want my home page to be my h-card because my site represents me
#
GWG
But I don't want to clutter it with extra information that not everyone wants to consume
#
tantek
that makes sense
#
tantek
to reframe that as a positive, what extra information do you want to provide beyond what (you presume) everyone wants to see on your home page, and why?
#
GWG
So, do I hide the information on the main page, but mark it up for non human consumption, and then have a human readable about page?
#
tantek
hiding information is discouraged
#
GWG
For example, my birthday if I wanted people to know
#
GWG
The less popular places to find me, for example, the fact I still have an AIM account
#
GWG
A full bio as opposed to a summary
#
GWG
The fact that I have trouble writing a bio aside

#

Who am I? Why am I here?
#
tantek
These are important questions
#
tantek
GWG - you could crowdsource your bio, e.g. invite people to help you write one on your User: page on the wiki
#
tantek
GWG, where is you existing about page?
#
GWG
I could do it on my site and get my non Indieweb associates involved as well

GWG I think "beach head" is one word. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beachhead
#
tantek
GWG, there are two approaches to consider.
#
tantek
1. Figure out what else you can markup on your existing about page with h-card
#
tantek
(looks pretty good actually, I could suggest a few things if you like)
#
tantek
2. Figure out what else you would like to add from a content perspective, and add it, purely as you would for readability. Then after it looks like what you want it to look like, even incrementally, then do 1. above.

Adding ssl to my site sure made a mess of my ability to indieauth ?
#
tantek
oh? keithjgrant, that's worth documenting as an issue with /HTTPS
#
[keithjgrant]
I'm hoping it had to do with different cached nameserver data
#
aaronpk
[keithjgrant]: if you set up redirects from http->https you should see some problems go away
#

Yeah, I think that's what's happening. I'm not sure I understand why it would keep switching between the two IPs for me. I'm more used to a dns change where once updated locally it's fixed for good

yes, I get that too

ssllabs gives them an F for the revoked certificate https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=openid.net
#
aaronpk
wonder why chrome allows it
#
sknebel
chrome doesn't check revocation lists
#
aaronpk
well that would explain it
#
sknebel
they have their own system, which only includes some subset of them
#
sknebel
https://dev.chromium.org/Home/chromium-security/crlsets - basically they bundle up some revocation information and ship that to the browser, instead of attempting live checks (which have their downsides as well)
#
