Zegnat jeremycherfas, you will want to run something that emulates an IRC client on a server, that stays permanently connected in your name and collects backscroll. ZNC is pretty nice because it is basically an IRC server itself, so you can use any IRC client to connect to it. Some other solutions like Weechat and Quassel need specialised clients to connect.
