#ZegnatGPL? So maybe we should look into making Zotero support mf2 then.
#ZegnatHow is their BibTeX to HTML? As that is the current experimental code we are working on
#jgmac1106not good, and I think is still better to have our small building block version. That way folks want to make a WordPress plugin or a Drupal module they could. Be nice for example if doing a quote post type you could check a box to add a citation.
#jgmac1106I just found it interesting that Zotero didn’t recognize mf2, was hoping there would have been some discussion around it
#ZegnatProbably not enough scientific articles being marked up with mf2 for people to have had a need for it?
#ZegnatAlways a chicken-and-egg problem. Do you start adding the markup only when consuming tools exist, or do you write consuming tools only when markup is prevelent already.
#ZegnatBest case: you use the markup yourself, and also create a consuming tool for it
#jgmac1106probably none, he used the cite website function my guess

#jeremycherfasAnyone got a minute to talk about IRC and ZNC on iOS?
#jeremycherfasHere's my question. I'm fed up with using Slack on my phone, so I thought I would get an IRC client. So far so good. I have one called Muter. And I can connect to freenode and #indieweb etc
#jeremycherfasBut, do I need to connect to something like PanicBNC in order to get scrollback etc?
#Zegnatjeremycherfas, you will want to run something that emulates an IRC client on a server, that stays permanently connected in your name and collects backscroll. ZNC is pretty nice because it is basically an IRC server itself, so you can use any IRC client to connect to it. Some other solutions like Weechat and Quassel need specialised clients to connect.
#jeremycherfasRight. So then when I have the details from my bouncer request, I connect to that instead of to freenode?
#jgmac1106or just when in slack for something else everythign is open
#jgmac1106[zegnat] ultimate goal is to include the citation engine into what ever UI will edventually spit out something like this (ignore incorrect h-entry): https://syllabus.glitch.me/

#sknebelhm, reading [cjwillcock] s log and remembering other recent conversations, seems like indiewebify.me is kind of leading people astray with asking for an author h-card where often a simple url to the homepage would work better
#aaronpkhm yeah. We really need to do some updates to that tool
#aaronpkOr at least add a note that there is more than one solution and tell people where else to look for info

#[cjwillcock]@sknebel [aaronpk] the indiewebify.me tool was recommended to me early on so I just got to work there. I'll take suggestions/recommendations here for alternatives gladly
#sknebelregarding your author issue, it'd actually be best in your case to not put an h-card for the author, but just an <a href="https://wp-dev.cjwillcock.ca/" class="u-author">
#sknebelthen sites doing our authorship discovery would use either the h-card from your homepage or the one on the sidebar
#gRegorLoveUnfortunately indiewebify.me is not currently as robust as the /authorship algorithm
#sknebelyeah, that's why mentioned above that it's probably misleading people

#[cjwillcock]I have fallen into a trap, where my expectations didn't match up with what the tool can do for me. I tried the test-driven-(learning,development) approach - where the indiewebify.me is my test authority and i red/green refactor to learn how the parts fit together. Looking for an accelerated approach to understanding various facets of IndieWeb (indiemark levels)
#sknebelI guess our approach to these things might very well have changed since that part of indiewebify.me was built. and having a small author-h-card isn't *wrong*, it works, but might not be optimal. and in this case apparently collided with the small h-card the mf2-plugin wants to generate
#[cjwillcock]but props to everyone involved with that tool, if I was so picky about the results, I would have gotten through it much more quickly
#[cleverdevil]The markers are a little heavy... apparently I can replace the big red markers with my own custom images, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.
