snarfed ugh that `/usr/local` path is probably old. it's not gcloud. we should change it to something that autodiscovers it. eg mine is actually /opt/homebrew-cask/Caskroom/google-cloud-sdk/latest/google-cloud-sdk/platform/google_appengine (from mac os x homebrew)
