wow gRegorLove lot for me to unpack there, sknebel just turned me on to columns, can't wait to to pressing things and seeing what breaks. This is way above my CSS chops but will be fun sandbox to learn

I almost added this natively into Fortress https://approveapi.com/
#
@wchadly
↩️ I was going to do that as well until I discovered the WebMention thing. It's a little more work to setup, but I feel like it opens a whole new world of possibilities.

I kinda want to provide timestamp URLs but I love/like URLs with words (titles) in them
#
jacky
but then I also don't want them to be too long
#
jacky
right now, it's only (UU)ID and slug
#
jacky
it couldn't hurt to add something like /YYYY/MM/DD/<super short identifier somehow>
#
jacky
or even just through in HH.MM.SS

What is url design
#
Loqi
URL design is the practice of deliberately designing URLs, in particular, permalinks, typically for a better UX for everyone who creates, reads, and shares content https://indieweb.org/URL_design
#
aaronpk
I prefer not to use words as a unique identifier in the URL. If you visit any of my permalinks you can change the text at the end to say whatever and it'll redirect to the canonical
#
aaronpk
I do like words in URLs though because it helps them be more recognizable
#
jacky
#
jacky
should make that work on KDE

aaronpk
if it were just a blog I'd drop the dd part

Cause it gets kinda long
#

but I do like that this way I can also have content at each path segment
#

a year summary, a month summary, a day summary
#
jacky
a lot to concern (since this isn't a permanent change but I also have to support my existing links on the Web right now too)

@blairmacintyre
I'm using webmentions instead of comments on my blog, so discussions happen on social platforms instead of being isolated to the blog page. I'm trying to decide if I should include the original link in the microposts on my blog, so that discussion can be collected on these too.

Continuing from #indieweb, I wonder if we should collect feed exports from as many reader setups as possible to see what the OPMLs are like
#
Zegnat
I could not previously find an actually agreed upon standaed for exchangable subscription lists.
#
Zegnat
I seem to recall seeing them do slightly different things for feeds in goups/folders/hierarchies. There isn’t really a standard I could find for exchangable subscription lists
#
aaronpk
good plan
#

i'm also not sure how i would map a nested folder structure into aperture which has essentially only one folder deep

### Hopefully this note will find its way trough my Micropub endpoint, my GitHub repository, my Netlify instance, and finally http://Brid.gy before ending up on Twitter #indieweb (https://cedric.io/social/2019/03/08/58674.html)

Afternoon

GWG
I think I am slowly making progress on my current project
#
sknebel
GWG: still working on the microformats storage thing?
#
GWG
sknebel, it is necessary. Yes.
#
GWG
With all the changes in WordPress, I need a stable way to get data in and out
#
GWG
It is just slow
#
GWG
But I need to fix this so I can fix some issues reported that some UI fields aren't saving
#
sknebel
yeah, infrastructure work is easy to ignore over features, but important
#
GWG
I want to get this done this weekend so I can move up to fixing higher level bugs.

would anyone ever consider subrcribing to someone's photo gallery, like if you a photo blog, would you do your gallery as an h-feed people could subscribe to and make each photo an h-entry?

aaronpk: a question for you about bimini. a device using this indieauth proxy has no opportunity to learn the value of `me` during the flow, but the proxy parses it for rels. would it be odd to return that info in the device's final successful poll?

[schmarty]: i was always imagining extending the oauth device flow for indieauth the same way indieauth extends oauth 2 and returning the "me" url (and now possibly profile info) when the access token is returned
