[tantek]Is anyone using RSS or Atom CATEGORY to explicitly categorize their different post (especially) response types for legacy feed reader consumption? e.g. category of "like" for likes, etc. basically setting a category based on PTD for your posts.
jmacI'm back with more questions stemming from Kicks Condor's HTML source confusing me. Regarding this snippet: https://pastebin.com/gkPQJwv8 I have two questions. The first is: that `rel="nometion"`, is that standard? (I take it that it means "Please don't throw a webmention at this item's URL value?")
jmacThank you for simplifying my life there. :) Question 2: Is is kosher for Kicks to tuck the the value of a u-in-reply-to property as the URL value of an h-cite item that that property contains, as demonstrated in that same snippet? (versus just having e.g. `<a href="http://example.com" class="u-in-reply-to">...</a>`, or whatnot)
LoqiA reply context is the display of what a reply post is in reply to, including linking to that original post with in-reply-to markup, showing some amount of that original post like author name, icon, summary / ellipsed content, and datetime published https://indieweb.org/reply-context
jgmac1106wow to unlock my account Twitter wants access to my website, “Link to and instructions on how to log into your app to review it for compliance” little heavy handed

[grantcodes]If the resizing service goes down it should be easy to either switch to another or move to not using it at all. I just pass photo urls to a function that returns the url from the resizing service
aaronpkI suppose maybe it's okay in the RSS feed, but it's annoying in the microformats feed because there's a proper way to mark them up so that the reader shows the syndication icons outside of the post content
snarfed, jackjamieson, leg, jgmac1106 and [kevinmarks786] joined the channel
aaronpkat this point I have no reason to believe RSS reader apps have no intention of supporting richer content, and will stick to an article-based display. which means there's no point in trying to innovate and complicate RSS any further
LoqiEleventy is a JavaScript based static site generator that allows the user to select their own preferred template engine and theme, which in practice can and does enable use of microformats2 https://indieweb.org/Eleventy
[jgmac1106]other option is just walk away and say hello micro.blog for good...this is getting really old.....you think they'd have a "whitelist" feature after clearing me twice
@jgmac1106↩️ and since I was designing and teaching #edu407 for the first time I can #empathize on a whole new level and trying to invent and pilot webmention badges on the fly probably ate into some participation time. 4/4 loads are really really freakin hard (twitter.com/_/status/1138894461243731969)
