#treoraZegnat: (cont from #indieweb) I wonder if I’m the only one who feels it’s bad idea to introduce such ‘magic’ subdomains in RFCs; *everybody* that provides subdomains to other will have to know about it to avoid handing it out to someone. Perhaps it could be put under the ‘well-known’ subdomain. :)
#ZegnatAs they are already going to be using .well-known as a path, I also feel like the magic subdomain is a little silly
#ZegnatI get the multple-domains-hosted-by-same-entity argument, but at that point surely DANE (or something similar) is actually better?

#[LewisCowles]👍 I see a different avatar image for you sometimes. Do you manually change it?

#jgmac1106LewisCowles no it is just me moving between Matrix, IRC, and Slack….during work week Slack usually open for other stuff so often just hang there
#aaronpkThx! I'm thinking more along the lines of a minimal photo manager to replace Flickr with storing my photos on hard drives
#aaronpkI've already stopped uploading my digital camera photos to Flickr and I store them in folders on drives at home now. I just want a better viewing interface to browse the photos
#[jgmac1106]figured...I spun them up kmyself...and was meh..one more thing
#aaronpki even installed a couple to give them a real try
#[jgmac1106]I tried Koken and lychee..admintax outweighed photo ease
#aaronpki think lychee was the closest to what i want, but now i can't remember the exact things that were dealbreakers
#[jgmac1106]I still just hand over all my data to Google Photos for now..
#aaronpkoh there's a new version of lychee... written in laravel
#[jgmac1106]yeah I spun it up cPanel on my shared host has one button install..it was the nicest option I could find, it was more a space issue for me
#aaronpkyeah space is definitely a concern. i'm planning on running it from my home server where i have several terabytes of storage available and also hard disks are cheap
#aaronpkoh i think one of the limitations of lychee was it didn't handle videos. looks like they've added some video support in a new version tho
