GWGWe should build this now...while people aren't moving around much
nickodd, [jgmac1106], gxt, [chrisaldrich], [hibs], crazed, KartikPrabhu, swentel, moppy, [KevinMarks] and [grantcodes] joined the channel; nickodd left the channel
[LewisCowles]Even super established frameworks and tools can be hard to grok and troubleshoot. 😞 I think one of the main arguments for static files is they have less moving parts so can be easier to reason about.
[LewisCowles]Just created a test minimal case django app for someone wanting to use `pytest-django` as without receiving their entire repo hard to diagnose their specific bug. I Love Python, just like I love all the languages I actively engage in. Great tooling and language to approach problems
[grantcodes]cjw6k: Yeah they got a bit more strict with their moderation. There is nothing wrong with it really, but just won't appear again until [keithjgrant] resubmits it
[keithjgrant](basically, some of the json-lock file referenced a private NPM mirror hosted internally at my old job, and when Firefox went to audit it, they couldn’t npm install from the mirror)
@JmacDotOrg↩️ Bahaha, and already got bit by a Whim bug that caused a new webmention by me to appear on all those pages every time I updated my announcement post.
The very definition of a bug you’ll never find until you ship it! *That means it’s working.* Still digging… (twitter.com/_/status/1275478449059254276)
@tinysubversions↩️ Not sure if this is intentionally left out but I'd love to see some explicit mention of the send/receive mechanism in the "how webmentions work" section. It's unclear that the commenter on a post (for example) ultimately triggers a POST to an endpoint on the receiver's server. (twitter.com/_/status/1275479940268298240)
[tantek]on my other question, since no one answered, I went ahead and updated the h-entry docs accordingly with a more comprehensive example (figured might as well go fix it upstream).
Loqi[Tantek Çelik] h-entry is a simple, open format for episodic or datestamped content on the web. h-entry is often used with content intended to be syndicated, e.g. blog posts. h-entry is one of several open microformat standards suitable for embedding data in HTML.

jmacThe question I had was: am I correct in thinking that recognition of "bookmark" as a "primary" webmention type happened sometime after, oh, the spring of 2018
jmacBecause I never thought to include it in my own library, and now I see it everywhere, to the point where I actually receive one from time to time (and they are treated as ugly generic mentions)
jmacsuperkuh: Yes indeed! I try not to forward the Perl part because it's a little weird, and I hope people besides Perl fans use it. But Perl fans can use it too. (And can tell me everything wrong with the code, as a bonus)
