better for the app to keep track of what scopes it has been granted rather than make that discoverable from the token IMO

lol I _know_ async webmentions are working in Lighthouse but I have to fix the logic for callbacks

#
jacky
what is IndieLogin
#
Loqi
indielogin.com is a service that developers can use to log users in to a website https://indieweb.org/IndieLogin
#
jacky
I'm guessing `/auth`
#
jacky

#
Loqi
An event is a type of post that in addition to a post name (event title) has a start datetime (likely end datetime), and a location https://indieweb.org/event

@JeremieCarlson
↩️ Ah probably lack of context on my part. I thought you were hiding the webmentions by default and I had a thought that those links would be good for SEO and wondered what the impact might be

jacky: did you like the HWC invite that tantek sent on twitter?
#
KartikPrabhu
it got put into a moderation queue, maybe because your twitter username has some "bad" words in it ;P
#
jacky
hahaha
#
jacky
I did
#
Loqi
jacky: lol
#
KartikPrabhu
I approved the like on the event (never knew I had that kind of dangerous powers!) ;)
#
jacky
I think anyone can!
#
KartikPrabhu
damn! thought I was special... oh well next time
#
jacky
lol :)
#
aaronpk
every webmention from a domain that isn’t someone who has logged in to the wiki goes in to the moderation queue
#
jacky
gotcha so liking it on twitter made that queue up
#
KartikPrabhu
my bad. i assumed it was the username

@sentamalin
I’m unsure why it took me so long, but I finally added the Bridgy target URLs to my posts. This should facilitate easier syndication to other social workers, though only for Twitter and Mastodon for now. (https://sentamal.in/notes/add-bridgy-webmention-links/)

↩️ Also have Webmention support on my blog. Wasn't sure if it will last and wanted to migrate my old comments, so also added GitHub based comments.

Thinking about deleting uploaded media… Does anyone’s media endpoint support `action=delete` with the `url` of the file to delete? That seems like the most consistent approach, but I was also wondering if maybe the regular Micropub endpoint should just allow deleting files with the same format as deleting posts.
#
Loqi
[manton]: gRegorLove left you a message 1 week, 6 days ago: would it be possible to get a test micro.blog account so I can update theme mf2 and try them out?
#
gRegorLove
oh yeah I need to email you about that
#
[manton]
I did set it up, so let me know if you have any questions, or if it’s not working.
#
gRegorLove
oh cool, thanks!
#
jacky
[manton]: huh I don't know why I haven't considered this
#
jacky
deleting content def makes sense
#
jacky
I don't know if I want to do it when a post is deleted tho; it might be referenced in other ones
[chrisaldrich] joined the channel
#
[manton]
[jacky] Yeah, I feel like whether content that’s referenced gets deleted automatically is kind of implementation-specific. But sometimes I’ll upload a file for testing, or need to re-upload it, and being able to delete those to clean things up would be useful.
#
[manton]
Micro.blog lets you do that from the web, but it doesn’t use Micropub.

[manton] #30 Deleting uploaded media
#
gRegorLove
[manton], does it support regular micropub delete for posts?
#
gRegorLove
I'm working on that for indiebookclub currently
#
[tantek]
update on that design image thing of US states as squares. Also found hexagons. dug deep enough to find images of both (ironically only in OG: metacrap, may have to rename that to metacrystals or something for such cases) https://indieweb.org/maps#Abstract_US_maps_for_data
#
[tantek]
could be interesting for geographic "heatmaps" of your checkins / posts per state if you're in the US, at least historical, sigh
#
[tantek]
point being, by abstracting to a state-level, it might be location obscuring enough to post publicly
#
[tantek]
guess I should capture that too
#
[tantek]
done ✅
#
[manton]
[gRegorLove] Yes, deleting posts works via Micropub. Just not deleting specific uploaded files.
#
gRegorLove
[manton] cool, look forward to testing it with mb. not that I expect many indiebookclub deletes

Since turning on blog comments for a July test-run, I’ve already gotten three spam comments; fortunately Askimet caught them. As part of this test, while I’ve not turned on webmentions (I’m still mulling), I have turned on ActivityPub support. If ... https://bix.blog/2020/07/02/since-turning-on.html
