Last week I blogged about my new favourite technology, explaining how to add Webmention support to a static website… https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1414947729806020608

Twitter → ActivityPub bridge is really clever. But I can’t help being a little pessimistic since this kind of thing is against Twitter’s rules. Wonder if it’ll last or if Twitter doesn’t care much anymore. https://birdsite.slashdev.space

Let's see if this works... I recently did the same thing with https://www.gozgeek.com/ DLTJ Now Uses Webmention and Bridgy to Aggregate Social Media Commentary https://dltj.org/article/dltj-with-webmention/ via @DataG

↩️ Instead of WebMentions, just added a Twitter-search-link to every page to find Twitter threads about it. https://twitter.com/BillSeitz/status/1414761111652552709

[manton] eh, Bridgy is technically against Twitter’s rules too, right?
#
[snarfed]
historically, the big silos generally didn’t notice or care (much) as long as you were small
#
[snarfed]
app review has changed that some, but only some
#
[manton]
[snarfed] Technically yes, although I think it’s more of a gray area compared to this Birdsite thing. Dunno.
#
[snarfed]
I guess I follow the policy technicalities less than what they say/show they actually want and don’t want, since they’ll then use (and sometimes change) their policies to enforce that, and not the other way around

aaronpk
I think they are more interested in stopping bots and fake accounts from creating content on silos rather than just extracting data

GWG
[manton]: Have you rsvped for the 24th?
#
[manton]
@GWG Not yet, but I’m planning to be there! I’ll RSVP soon, thanks for the reminder.

Great
#
[manton]
Done. Always nice to see that Micro.blog’s Webmention sending actually works. 🙂

[snarfed]
how do you author? does micro.blog have native RSVP support?
#
[manton]
Not really. I manually add <data class=“p-rsvp” value=“yes”> to the post and then Micro.blog does the actual sending.
