GWG
Doing a check. Quite a few micropub items reached 3:3 and thus are now stable.
#
GWG
Time to update the page.
#
GWG
The wiki states an Extension only becomes an official when published as part of a broader ranged official spec extension for Micropub.
#
GWG
When do we get to that?

<capjamesg> snarfed That is indeed the reason. I'll try and do a full recrawl soon.

@mikevdev
I've added #webmention support to my site. If you like this tweet (after an hour) your like will show up on the article. managed to shorten the article by releasing a npm module to do much of the heavy lifting. link included. #indieweb #webdev #nodejs https://mikevdv.dev/blog/2022-07-05-web-mentions

↩️ In 2022, I wouldn't touch microdata. Microformats (v1) are still parsed by many things, v2 is actively used for #webmentions , but if you insist on http://schema.org then consider RDFa instead. Related read: https://aaronparecki.com/2016/12/17/8/owning-my-reviews

Question: is there a spec for describing sets of archives and links other than Memento? There's a lot of good stuff in Memento but it doesn't really seem to have an interest in being like 'here's an unrelated set of every link in my archive'.

[tantek]
what is Memento
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "Memento" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "Memento is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
[tantek]
AramZ-S[m], oh yeah I remember looking at Memento like 9 years ago. It's aspirational handwavy stuff, pretty close to totally useless. Nothing actually "good" in there as in any kind of workable or implemented standard (interoperably by publishers and consuming code to do something useful)
#
AramZ-S[m]
Yeah, Memento is heavily biased towards the way archive dot org works and is structured but outside of their starts making less and less sense. I think the timegate/timemap stuff makes some sense in theory but it's hard to penetrate their spec and understand exactly wtf is going on and even when I do (working in public on it here: https://fightwithtools.dev/tag/memento/?cb=123 ) , the specifics of the complexity of rels seems like a

Also creating WARC files can get really complex

This is one of the things I'm hoping to get out of my research on indie search engines. I really want to figure out a way that related indie search engines can share their crawl resutls. I have a format I've made up for archived content on my own that builds off of the Memento stuff, but also is structured for a whole bunch of other outcomes that are only for my site (and def overengineered) but it would be cool if my sites' archives
#
AramZ-S[m]
could be shared and used collectively with other archives instead of forcing everyone to crawl and store stuff themselves in each individual site.

Have you looked at the Common Crawl stuff?

#
AramZ-S[m]
I have not even heard of it, but looking at it now and wow how have I never heard of this before.
#
AramZ-S[m]
This one looks like it is built on top of the Internet Archive's crawls but def still really interesting and I'm also surprised I've never seen this before.

AramZ-S [KevinMarks] fwiw Common Crawl can be useful for sampling but it's not nearly as usable for anything comprehensive on individual sites. I tried to use it for Indie Map but had to give up: https://indiemap.org/docs.html#common-crawl
#
[snarfed]
(AramZ-S btw I spent plenty of time on crawling, WARCs, etc for Indie Map, happy to compare notes if you want)
