#LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "web components" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "web components is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#trwnhi wasn't thinking that far ahead ^^; [12:47:04] <+[snarfed]> oh. sure, but it sounded like the goal wasn't just to pass wm verification, it was for the wm receiver to actually fetch and use the AS2 as the source doc
#trwnhrel-alternate on the html could work if the receiver then checks for that?
#[snarfed]sure! we discussed that here earlier. non-standard, but still possible. the catch is that the default HTML source doc would probably also link to the target, so the wm receiver would need to know to fetch rel-alternate anyway, and then decide _which_ source doc to use
#trwnhideally yes, although they could differ (but shouldn't)
#trwnhit's definitely nonstandard but i wasn't sure how much extra behavior you'd have to specify
#trwnhprobably as the receiver, you would need to support this, and as the sender, you would have to know ahead-of-time whether the receiver supports this extended behavior (so is it worth sending the webmention or not)

#[snarfed]eh, you can send wms far and wide, not much downside, but yeah you wouldn't necessarily know who'd support it
#[snarfed]and again if you serve two valid source docs, via either conneg or rel-alternate, you don't (yet) have a way to tell the receiver which one to use
#[snarfed](in practice right now I expect most AP implementations differ significantly in the HTML microformats vs AS2 data they serve for a given post URL. eg Mastodon doesn't serve anything in HTML since it requires JS 😢)

#[snarfed]capjamesg the Bridgy Fed update profile issue was a bug. thanks for reporting! fix should be deployed in 5m.

#gRegorNot sure why but werd.social doesn't seem to want to pick up my profile picture
#[snarfed]gRegor it only delivers profile updates to instances with followers, and I don't see that anyone on werd.social follows your BF account?
