LoqiIt looks like we don't have a page for "web components" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "web components is ____", a sentence describing the term)
trwnhi wasn't thinking that far ahead ^^; [12:47:04] <+[snarfed]> oh. sure, but it sounded like the goal wasn't just to pass wm verification, it was for the wm receiver to actually fetch and use the AS2 as the source doc
[snarfed]sure! we discussed that here earlier. non-standard, but still possible. the catch is that the default HTML source doc would probably also link to the target, so the wm receiver would need to know to fetch rel-alternate anyway, and then decide _which_ source doc to use
trwnhprobably as the receiver, you would need to support this, and as the sender, you would have to know ahead-of-time whether the receiver supports this extended behavior (so is it worth sending the webmention or not)
[snarfed]and again if you serve two valid source docs, via either conneg or rel-alternate, you don't (yet) have a way to tell the receiver which one to use
[snarfed](in practice right now I expect most AP implementations differ significantly in the HTML microformats vs AS2 data they serve for a given post URL. eg Mastodon doesn't serve anything in HTML since it requires JS 😢)
