# [Al_Abut] I’ve been manually POSSE to Threads and frustrated with some of the details, like ignoring my customized open graph images.
# [Al_Abut] Didn’t put my latest post up because it cropped my picture so much that it was literally just my torso.

# gRegor [Al_Abut], Might try FB's sharing debugger before posting your URL on IG: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
# [Al_Abut] Thanks, I have and still no dice :/

https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2024/01/rebuilding-foursquare-for-activitypub-using-openstreetmap/I used to like the original FourSquare. The "mayor" stuff was a bit silly, and my friends never left ...

# [campegg] [snarfed] I may have picked up a slight error in the Bridgy Fed docs: the instructions for verifying links (https://fed.brid.gy/docs#mastodon-link-verification) say that the `rel=me` link should point to `https://web.brid.gy/r/https://[DOMAIN]/`, but I had to change it to `https://fed.brid.gy/r/https://[DOMAIN]/` to get it to work for me.

# [snarfed] [campegg] yeah that's a known issue, and complicated. BG originally put AP actor ids on http://fed.brid.gy. later (last fall), I switched to protocol-specific subdomains like http://web.brid.gy, and changed the docs to use that. but AP actor ids are immutable, so I kept the existing users on http://fed.brid.gy instead, since if their ids changed, they'd have entirely new accounts
# [campegg] [snarfed] ah, got it—thanks!
