ok, I added "2025-04-01 Example of overeager filters: Cloudflare rolling out filter blocking all URLs containing "camel" https://github.com/npm/cli/issues/8203" to the "See Also" section of /web_application_firewall https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=100673&oldid=100630

Kind of interesting to see advocacy for Markdown formatted text _versus_ proprietary formats in this article. Granted it's from iA Writer but I liked seeing some history on word processing software. https://ia.net/topics/markdown-and-the-slow-fade-of-the-formatting-fetish

has anyone implemented/published backlinks to a ToC? i.e. a ToC has hyperlinks to headings that you can click to navigate directly to those sections, the backlink would be a link from that heading or entire section that navigates you back to being scrolled to that heading in the ToC

a similar feature is how footnotes typically work on webpages, where you can click the superscript in-context to scroll to the footnote, and they nearly always have a back arrow or the footnote number itself at the start of the line which links back to where it was referenced. so you can click back/forth from the context of the note to the note description itself.

WCAG quick ref is really nice for navigation https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/quickref/

indeed. also curious if anyone puts heading/section specific nav next to each heading, like not just backlink to the ToC as above, but also prev section, next section. haven't found an example yet. seems like it might be helpful for nav in a screen-reader

lol Wikipedia has different articles on "plaintext" vs "plain text" (with space). glad we're not the only ones 😂
