[schmarty]: ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ๐Ÿ’.ws seems to have IndieAuth misconfigured? `missing_iss`, probably because `indielogin.com` doesn't forward `iss` from my authorization endpoint (I literally double-checked, and in my `kittybox-indieauth` crate I use for IndieAuth types, it is not an optional field, so I couldn't've not passed it)
#
vikanezrimaya
additionally it looks like my neighbor to the right didn't put their webring links??? might need some gardening i dunno

[KevinMarks]: re: crawlers: would be double funny if this was caused by some sort of weird google crawler itself... or are their crawlers nice enough? honestly can't expect anything good from Google these days

thanks vikanezrimaya! yeah there's a known issue with the webring's indieauth for some folks' endpoints. i don't currently have a way to reproduce the issue locally, so it's been on my backburner a while. for example: https://fusil.uk/publications/2025/03/12/18211/
#
[schmarty]
your neighbor to the left (fluffy) and to the right (http://avris.it) both appear to have their webring links. fluffy's are floating absolutely positioned at the bottom of the viewport. avris' are in the footer.

[schmarty], I'm poking around the source code, I don't think I see `session_start()` being called. Presuming https://git.schmarty.net/schmarty/gem-diamond is still the correct source.
#
gRegor
That usually needs to happen early on before any headers/content get sent, public/index.php probably a good place for it. Without that I think the check in $_SESSION for the original issuer will fail.
#
gRegor
Just tried signing in with my site that has the newer metadata+issuer doc and also got missing_iss, so that's my best guess.

what is migration
#
Loqi
migration in the context of the indieweb refers to the process of moving your indieweb site from any one or more of one CMS / web host / DNS provider / URL design / domain name to another https://indieweb.org/migration

Has anyone built and indieweb-based voting site or service? Not poll/vote posts, but rather a site you sign into with Web sign-in and then vote on something (whether a poll, or ranked choice, approvals, or other form of votes)
#
[tantek]
an* indieweb-based
#

I have a bunch of hobby code for different voting systems to tally by, but never thought to turn it into a service

I did build Technorati vote links 20 years ago, but the uptake wasn't great

re: browsers changing styles for <h1>. I was a holdout for nested <h1> elements, but gave up a couple of years ago. It's a pity that it was never implemented, because it was such a useful idea.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I was writing a nunjucks macro, and had to add a second parameter for heading level. Clumsy to say the least.
#

Apparently, TBL had an idea for scoped headers back in the day (90s, I assume), but it never got off the ground, alas.

Google is nudging Android's Google Assistant use to Gemini and "later this year, the classic Google Assistant will no longer be accessible on most mobile devices" Frustrating. https://blog.google/products/gemini/google-assistant-gemini-mobile/
#
btrem
gRegor: are those ai tools?
#
gRegor
Gemini is. Google Assistant is the "classic" voice-to-x thing. Granted, most of my usage has been to tell it "remind me x at y time" or "Navigate x" for quick pulling up maps
#
gRegor
I can get by without using the Gemini replacement, just frustrating they're mostly not giving a choice. I opted out for now, but eventually it will be the default.

Are there any Soverin email users here? I'd love to ask some questions that are not on their website (or are sufficiently hidden away somewhere.) ;-) Happy to chat privately.
