9jf9hf Hm I did some shallow research and between the few markdown-only (flat file) CMSes I found there's thousands if not millions of repo commits and very complex codebases.
#
9jf9hf Where does the complexity come from?

IWDiscord <9jf9hf>
#
.pi.r2. _9jf9hf[d] 11ty has less than 4k commits and less than 50k lines of code in tokei.

[social] That is awesome. Growing up there was a wind farm on the Altimont between California Central Valley and the Bay Area and they did a lot of testing of different types of blade configurations. My dad talked with them a lot as they used is medical foundation’s health plan (it was run by doctors) and the wind farm had a couple medical doctors who were part of the group funding the wind farm.

carrvo gRegor re bugets: you could try Buxfer (https://buxfer.com). I used it for a while and it is nice that it exposes an API so you can write custom stuff on top.
#
carrvo re css article: I think there are two problems which would suggest two solutions side-by-side: the robustness from control and the art/innovation from flexibility. Older CSS and JavaScript focus on the latter; Typescript on the former.
#
carrvo I think I really like some of his suggestions, but I disagree with the older classes as "broken", just misused.

[social] A “quick” blog post had me stumped when a reoccuring problem of proper unicode for curly quotes and other punctuation was fine in my full listing of my blog, but the individual blog post page they were barfing up unicode.
#
[social] I finally sorted out the output protecting “htmlspecialchars” in PHP was turning the ampersand in the Unicode into &.
#
[social] When helpful coding turns into unhelpful. It is fixed now.
#
[social] 100% difficult
#
[social] I never thought about that impacting non-browser displays.
#
[social] Peeking at my feed reader now.
#
[social] My reader, NetNewsWire, processes Unicode fine.

Loqi utf8mb4 is the MySQL character encoding which includes full Unicode coverage, including emoji symbols https://indieweb.org/utf8mb4
#
[KevinMarks] 8859-1 has some banned characters. Safer to use Win-1252 as shift-space as non breaking space 0x80 is invalidin 8859-1
#
[social] I may change it. I’ve had the 8859-1 for a few years.
