[snarfed] [coming here from #microformats] did a bit of a dive into video alt text authoring UIs in Bluesky and Mastodon: https://indieweb.org/video#Alt_text

Loqi daylists is a top level page on a personal website that lists at least the names of one or more of an individual’s personalized Spotify “daylist” music playlists https://indieweb.org/daylist

[Trevor_Morris] How do you get the daylist? Does Spotify provide an RSS feed and/or API for these?
Saige_Leah and barnaby joined the channel
#
[Trevor_Morris] Ah, OK. I think it's a good list to add to my music section, but I would want to automate it.
#
itskalvaxus Great shoutout for monocle. It prompted me to add h-feed markup; https://monocle.p3k.io/preview?url=https://gerben.dev/timeline and it works quite well

[Trevor_Morris] I wondered if it was a premium thing, but https://newsroom.spotify.com/2023-09-12/ever-changing-playlist-daylist-music-for-all-day/ says it's available for free users, too.
#
[Trevor_Morris] I wonder, do you see *mine* or *yours* on the share URL: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1EP6YuccBxUcC1
#
Loqi ok, I added "about: https://newsroom.spotify.com/2023-09-12/ever-changing-playlist-daylist-music-for-all-day/" to the "See Also" section of /daylists https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=106225&oldid=106207

[tantek] Daylist << URL that shows you YOUR personalized daylist if you're signed in: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1EP6YuccBxUcC1

[Trevor_Morris] Using https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/reference/get-playlist and entering the UUID, it doesn't return anything for the daylist, but works for "normal" playlists. "Get Featured Playlists" has been deprecated.
#
[Trevor_Morris] I found https://github.com/dxnnv/daylist-api/tree/master but there is no documentation on how it works. It seems to build an RSS feed, maybe using notifications that the playlist has changed…?!
#
Loqi It looks like we don't have a page for "manual til hit hurts" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "manual til hit hurts is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
[tantek] manual til it hurts is /manual_until_it_hurts
#
Loqi manual until it hurts is an IndieWeb development practice of resisting automating something until you have manually done it enough times to really understand it, and know that it is worth doing and automating https://indieweb.org/manual_til_it_hurts
#
[Trevor_Morris] I agree, but I would have to remember to check and fetch the data *every* few hours, and if I missed one, I'd be annoyed and the set wouldn't be "complete".

[Trevor_Morris] It's mainly for the quirky titles. I never listen to those playlists!
#
[Trevor_Morris] I concur. Thought it might be a bit of fun, but ROI is too small.

rossabaker Does IndieLogin fetch rel=me from a static IP? I ran into https://github.com/aaronpk/indielogin.com/issues/135. Logging into the wiki to document Iocaine was blocked ... by Iocaine. I'm looking for a temporary way to identify that traffic.
#
Loqi It looks like we don't have a page for "Iocaine" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "Iocaine is ____", a sentence describing the term)

rossabaker Iocaine: https://iocaine.madhouse-project.org/. It detects unwanted traffic -- typically AI scrapers -- and responds with trash.

Loqi Large language model traffic refers to web requests made by LLM operators to ingest data for use in training AI models, or to answer user queries in "search" mode (i.e https://indieweb.org/LLM_traffic
#
rossabaker Yep, that's the one I'm going for as soon as I can log in again. I'll have to allowlist the IP that Indielogin uses.
