I'm glad you found it interesting!

I have wished for a really lightweight wiki for a while. Starting from HTML feels like a great place to begin!

I added Phinx migrations to my wee search engine index db yesterday. It documents my decisions, allows me to create seeding and test and undo changes. Nicely lightweight and I didn't have to go all in on a stack. https://book.cakephp.org/phinx/

Thanks. I think everyone on the fediverse knows that user sign up is confusing, just not what to do about it. Obviously this doesn’t solve it, but some things become easier.

Need multiple papers on this, and then a diagram of domains flying around a giant Mastodon AT-AT with a tow cable 😆

@burgeonLab++ your post on using iiline was super helpful to get the little bearblog-like upvotes to work.

All my tweets are now available, more or less, on my site. How well they work? Well, sorta. Social network chunks make the best sense when they have their full context. But it's nice to find old panoramas. Gonna work on adding more ways to expose them. For now the urls are available via my site search engine. nice to see stuff like https://artlung.com/twitter/artlung/status/1417698140698804225 again

and great URL design too — so presumably you can also cache people's replies to you using that design as well
#
[artlung]
yeah, mirroring the twitter architecture. and yes, though many, many tweets I replied to have lost their context.

[tantek]
can probably backfill (or even redirect!) to their Internet Archive equivalents!
#
[artlung]
yeah, gives me max flexibility
#
[tantek]
in fact that's probably what I'd do rather than serving other people's tweets at my domain
#
[artlung]
I am torn on whether I should provide the twitter url as rel=canonical

getting error:

I don't think the twitter ones are canonical any more as they don't display if you're logged out
#
[artlung]
That's a good point. They're off the web.

[Trevor_Morris]: Nice implementation of the Obsidian map view widget!

hmm that's not true, tweets are still visible logged out

maybe in the chaos they disabled that at one point, but not any more

[artlung] I'm having fun browsing your site! also minor bit of feedback, in dark mode, the "ART, TOYS, PROJECTS" heading is pretty low contrast, I struggle to read it

theboeh: KOReader is awesome, esp great on e-ink readers. I use it sideloaded on the Kobo Aura One (Android is supported too); it has loads of customizations and featurew, like linking to Calibre. I written a post on it if you want to learn a bit more https://burgeonlab.com/blog/ssh-into-koreader-kobo-ereader-from-macos/
