post briefly about datetags, and looks like they all work in Mastodon, and are at least hyperlinked to tag pages in Bluesky (which I can't view because I'm not logged in). can a Bluesky user try clicking on the datetags in this post and see if they go to a working tags page in Bluesky? https://tantek.com/2026/216/t1/hashtag-proposal-datetags

[snarfed] interesting that they work via the protocol yet not in the text entry test you posted!

yup, evidently the http://bsky.app authoring UI doesn't recognize them

Does anyone know why processes on a server might suddenly all restart at the same time?
#
[capjamesg]
systemd sent a SIGTERM to everything I think.
#
[capjamesg]
It happened at 2:00:12 UTC, so I wonder if some kind of automated job could have caused it.
#
[capjamesg]
Ah, I do an `apt-get upgrade -y` at that time…
#
[capjamesg]
Maybe that was responsible?

[capjamesg]: iirc aptitude package manager asks processes whcih have been updated to restart
#

different package managers do different things. i went with arch linux for my server to specifically avoid this. pacman just updates the files and the user/sysadmin is expected to manually decide when/if to restart the process (otherwise the update doesnt apply)
