Yay Plume confirmed working for Kirby cms with micropub :) https://rmdes.github.io/plume/

rMdes: thanks for making it work :)

[aciccarello]
That's great! Testing has been a challenge for Omnibear too. I'm considering building a mini micropub server into the test code so I can write some true e2e tests. But it definitely helps to test against multiple servers.

rMdes: re: duplicate webmentions on your site -> one is going via regular webmentions channel, and the other one went via bridgy fed.
#
srijan
I've now gated bridgy fed notifications from my site under a flag, and linked it to a new fed.brid.gy syndication target in micropub so that I can control that per post.

rMdes, FYI, I got a "BadRequestError: Invalid value provided for " `redirect_uri` error when trying to log into my Indiekit server (running beta 28) via Firefox.

[aciccarello]: sound like question for #indiekit channel?
#
[aciccarello]
It was plume related. Also I can't access the #indiekit channel from Slack 😢

already raised this earlier, if folks want a separate indiekit channel, add it to brainstorming on /discuss like we have all other new channels we've created recently to see if there's actually sufficient interest to justify it https://chat.indieweb.org/2026-08-10#t1786384808854500

[preview] [[tantek]] consider adding a channel proposal to https://indieweb.org/discuss#Brainstorming (see that section for other channel proposals in various stages of discussion) to see if there is sufficient interest to be worth creating a separate channel (in thi cas...

[tantek]: I added #indiekit to that /discuss page already but not sure if I added in the right place in the page
#
rMdes
[aciccarello]: that's because, to make this work for indiekit I had to modify some core plugins, i'm isolating these changes and will provide a PR to indiekit upstream to see if this can be integrated
#
rMdes
I'm going to deploy indiekit origin on my side, so i can test on indiekit upstream without any of my changes to core parts
#
rMdes
I provide a docker-compose deploy of my fork if anyones wants to test, my fork has a lot of new plugins and a lot of difference compared to upstream but my plan is to at least propose some of the real improvements I have made along the way to upstream
#
rMdes
srijan: my pleasure :) hope you find the extension useful, suggestions to improve welcome =:)

Indiekit servers running @rmdes/indiekit-endpoint-auth 1.0.0-beta.31 or later support fetching this URL and matching wildcards. Other IndieAuth servers may need to implement redirect URL discovery similarly. https://indieauth.spec.indieweb.org/#redirect-url

i hate how accessibility features are the first thing to disappear when making AI proof sites.

every AI workaround i've seen tanks accessibility in some way or another

Not sure we need a separate indiekit channel, doesn't seem like it's been overwhelming dev chat.

same thought, hence my comment on the proposal in https://indieweb.org/discuss#indiekit

Hi, I've been pointed here from the general #indieweb channel. I'm developing ProFed, an ActivityPub system for professional networking. I use microformats for my profile importer, and in the web UI, and would love to discuss extensions and use cases in that context. Is this the best place for that?

christof this is also a good place for anything ActivityPub specific, plenty of AP devs hangout here like [snarfed] [manton] [pfefferle]

hey [capjamesg], just a heads up, when i try to add the feed for your web weaving pod to my audiobookshelf instance, i get a 403 forbidden error
#
girlonthemoon
not sure if you're doing any blocking of user agents or anything but i thought you should know
#
girlonthemoon
(also not sure if this would've been appropriate for a DM or here, sorry)
#
[capjamesg]
girlonthemoon Thank you! I have Cloudflare set up which might be blocking it.
#
girlonthemoon
cloudflare always the culprit haha!
#
girlonthemoon
i can provide logs if you'd like
#
[capjamesg]
I have Cloudflare set up primarily so that it’s harder for people to scrape the audio.
#
[capjamesg]
That would be great!
#
girlonthemoon
that makes sense
#

i'll DM you logs

BTW.: has anybody ever sucessfully created an individual RSS feed, meaning one, that is tailored for a user, and can only be read with the users credentials? Of course I can implement that, but there's no use, if people can't use it with their RSS readers.
#
doesnm
maybe you could put credentials to query params? Not quite safe but can be handled by rss readers
#
christof
Yeah, that safety issue is, what kept me from doing that. Even Basic Auth would be be better through HTTPS, but many RSS readers seem to strip that.
#
christof
And they don't seem to support e.g. oauth either.
#
[capjamesg]
The query parameter implementation is the most interoperable but I do wish there was another way of retrieving authenticated feeds.
#
[capjamesg]
I had never thought about basic auth before…
#
christof
That's pretty much where I've gotten to before as well. It would just be cool to have e.g. the ProFed timeline in your RSS reader.

Many podcasts have subscriber-only content that use a unique URL. The one I have uses a random id at the end (not a url param, but part of the path).

#
christof
I see, that would be kind of a user specific token. I thought of that. Probably that's the least terrible option. I just have to make sure, that the token only works with the RSS feed, so that a leak keeps the damage contained.
#
srijan
and maybe a way to revoke tokens?
#
christof
Yes, in the end the whole setup becomes pretty compilcated just to allow the timeline as RSS feed. Probably not the first thing. I'll implement.
#
gRegor
Patreon uses the unique RSS feed URL method
#
gRegor
I presume it maps to the subscription so if it ends, the RSS stops working
