# ↩️ Do either of you guys have any path suggestions for thinking about migration? I saved all of my posts from my old Wordpress site as an XML file. Not sure whether those are importable? ( twitter.com/_/status/1267975668236763136)

# ↩️ They are, but YMMV - import is Hard. Federation, depends what you mean. Many of the pieces are there but there needs to be some dev work done to get it to work - it’s on the roadmap, but certainly I’ve not had much time to get to it. ( twitter.com/_/status/1268080706846101504)

# ↩️ So then I guess what I can do, is create an archive of my old site, set it up specifically for those things, and then just blog on the new site? ( twitter.com/_/status/1268133398033453058)

# ↩️ Yeah I archived my WP site but I use the WordPress @withknown plugin to send all my posts back to the arcvive, the posts don't map to WP post kinds but I get multiple archived copies (https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/212PdT) ( twitter.com/_/status/1268142236514037760)

# ↩️ What I mean by federation is for posts from Known sites to be automatically sent to anywhere on the fediverse and then to have everything from there come back to the site without reliance on third-party services. August is when I will hopefully be useful in PHP. ( twitter.com/_/status/1268146537294512129)
# ↩️ ... I forgot about that plugin! Either I just missed it, or it isn't listed officially. Because that is awesome. I could certainly maintain that for consistency, and it sounds like that's the best method for now. ( twitter.com/_/status/1268145668490588161)
# ↩️ The @withknown @wordpress plugin is widely out of date. I think @timmyboy wrote it actually each post on Known (regardless of post type) becomes an article: https://archive.jgregorymcverry.com/farnhamstreet-checking-out-your-list-of-intellectual/ (https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/22eFTD) ( twitter.com/_/status/1268148434017583104)
# ↩️ It's definitely still a nice touch, though, and will let me preserve what I already have rather than trying to backdate everything back to May 2019. LOL By the end of it, I finally ran into the limits you mentioned in Wordpress. ( twitter.com/_/status/1268150460197699585)
# ↩️ Quite a few options, I am using @withknown currently for microblogging and syndicate these posts to @tumblr @twitter @microdotblog and @wordpress check oout @ihazawebsite as well (https://quickthoughts.jgregorymcverry.com/s/18HYW2) ( twitter.com/_/status/1268152713537376258)

# ↩️ A lot of that depends on where that “anywhere” is. The connectors to do that are there, but may require custom connectors to be written ( twitter.com/_/status/1268169769703915520)
# ↩️ Ideally it would be any sort of federation server; commonly Mastodon or friendica. I think those are the two with the largest APIs. Maybe PeerTube for video post types, too, perhaps. ( twitter.com/_/status/1268172975015989249)
