aaronpk honestly i think another big factor is the economy is doing very well right now so there's not nearly as many people between jobs as there was in 2008, so there's a lot fewer meetups happening now because everyone's tired from work by the end of the day. in 2008 when there were way more unemployed people there were a lot more informal meetups happening and a lot more people attending them.
