jjuran I think the romantic involvement metaphor is inadvisable, but I don’t hear anything sexualized in it.

jjuran I feel a bit excluded in the sense that the speaker is referencing what’s meant to be a shared experience, but it’s not something I identify with.

Zegnat I am not even sure the metaphor (or simile) is explaining anything about the users relation to Firefox. Which is where I get lost.

Zegnat Might just be that I do not tend to anthropomorphise things, so equating anything to an ex puzzles me.

jjuran Also, I don’t need to know about the speaker’s (implied) past relationships generally, and that maturity may have been an issue in particular.

jjuran I’m not sure it merits a “hey, not cool”, but yeah, inadvisable.

Zegnat What part would you say is the inadvisable part? The one where the user seems to imply something about their past relations?

Zegnat I personally do not mind someone using terms like “ex-girlfriend”, as I expect them not to mind whatever term I want to use for my relations. But I will also be the first to admit I have been incredibly privileged when I grew up and never had to think about it.
