jeremycherfas, ancarda, petermolnar, jgmac1106, et al. I just added vHWC for wednesday and listed both CEST and BST timeslots. Have a look and let me know if this seems right! https://indieweb.org/events/2018-06-13-homebrew-website-club#Virtual_European_Time
#
ancarda
Wait, 3:30 and 4:30 PM UTC?
#
ancarda
Oh I see. I can only do the latter (anything after 5 PM BST works for me)
#
ancarda
I'll edit the wiki when I can. Urgh timezones are so confusing

Yes? I think my UTC time conversion was correct there? I may have messed up PDT again, but that’s up to USians to fix :P

Is there some lightweight scheduling webapp we can use that lets you punch in your timezone, and availability (e.g. after 5 PM local time) and it just figures all this out for each person?
#
ancarda
Zegnat: "USians"?
#
jeremycherfas
What is doodle?
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "doodle" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "doodle is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
jeremycherfas
Doodle is a lightweight scheduling webapp that lets you punch in your availability and figures it all out.
#
ancarda
I figured it meant that, just how am I suppose to pronounce that? YouEss-Ian?
#
Loqi
ok, I added "https://doodle.com" to a brand new "See Also" section of /Doodle https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=48668&oldid=48667
#
ancarda
Can I propose "US American" as an alternative?
#
ancarda
USian just looks and sounds odd to me
#
jeremycherfas
And let's not forget that the US is at war with Canada.
#
jeremycherfas
Trade war idiocy.
#
ancarda
What does that have to do with the topic at hand?
#
jeremycherfas
Your preference for US American when inclusivity might suggest that Candians have a say in the matter too.
#
ancarda
In that case, wouldn't "American" suffice, given that refers to the whole continent?
#
ancarda
I suggested "US American" as an alternative to "USian", which is for a specific country
#
jeremycherfas
I think North America and South America are separate continents, and I know nothing about timezones in S. America, but probably, yes.
#
jeremycherfas
Also, this was not targetted at you exclusively.
#
Zegnat
I was specifically talking about the PDT timezone though, so realy is should be “people living on the pacific coast”. I didn’t mean to start a debate on me humorously using the internet term USian :P
#
ancarda
Going by https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/pdt, "North Americans" would be the most accurate (PDT is in all 3 countries)
#
jeremycherfas
And I thought I was only adding to the possible humour.
#
ancarda
jeremycherfas: I disagree. When you say "this was not targeted at you", your previous message started with "Your preference for"
#
jeremycherfas
Fair cop. You were reacting to zegnat, I was reacting to you. I apologise unreservedly.
#
ancarda
Alright, thank you
#
jgmac1106
Yes US and USA are only acceptable abreviations, those below Mason-Dixon will still argue US is unaccptable, but they lost, f-em

We've tossed around the idea of a dedicated channel for those. Wanna add that to the list of discussion items for Leaders Summit?
#

sendin things to only one channel would also be a start. and great would be proper deduplication of POSSE copies where possible, but that'd be an effort to build
