lol, I wanted to research the phrase ‘year of the reader’, so I looked at cweiske’s searchbox and found this: https://chat.indieweb.org/2015-02-10/1423603711045000
#

[aaronpk] 2015 is the year of the reader!
#
[sebsel]
But, there are more votes for june 2018 - june 2019 as the year of the reader, so I’ll go with that one :p

about Berlin... I have a few ideas to talk about, shall I start writing session ideas down or wait until Berlin itself?
[Rose] joined the channel
#
[Rose]
I wrote ideas down before Nürnberg which was good because several of us had the same idea so I had fallbacks
#
petermolnar
[Rose]: by wrote down, you mean a piece of paper or the wiki itself?

petermolnar, I blogged my list of ideas, and the pointed to them on the event / my user page in the wiki. As I didn't want to make it look I was pushing for a premade program.
#
petermolnar
that's a fair point
#
sknebel
Some IWC pages had a session ideas section, so I'd say it's fine to add something like that. But really, most people decide what sessions they go to on the spot

so sad
#

i'm going to have to do that one again in berlin
#
tonz
yes, was looking forward to rewatching it , and try to follow along on my own
#
aaronpk
I'll do it again and make sure it's recorded. If it fails again then I'll make a version of it at home

I just saw this post about offline peer to peer installs of Android apps: https://android-developers.googleblog.com/2018/10/offline-p2p-installs-beta.html This is somewhat exciting, but I've been dreaming of p2p installs of progressive web apps, not just regular apps. #IndieWeb #PWA #p2p #Android (via https://puz.fun/dave/100939969552109136)

single point of aaron is when a relatively early IndieWeb technology is being developed and there haven't been enough implementations to create proper diversity causing an over reliance on one of {{aaronpk}}'s services in order for the technology to broadly. The goal is always to mitigate this by encouraging people to build more implementations of a given technology or to discover what might be causing a lack of implementations.

[aaronpk] one of the same reasons I am intentionally not opening up Aperture for signups. I want there to be more choices of microsub servers instead of everyone using the one I run.

#

yeah, think so too
#

basically, 1.0 is around the corner, 2.0 focuses on not having to rely on external services (indieauth, webmention & microsub)
