{{{event_description}}} in the one-day-event template inside a <nowiki> to block additional links from being inserted there? (would need to do this to make local wiki links work for {{{event_wiki_page}}}) asking because I saw your mf2 talk entry put an explicit <span class="u-url"> in the description.
