#

Ok, I'll tell them that when I see them next
#
[eddie]
Does anyone have anything for Day 2?
#
[eddie]
Of the IndieWeb challenge?
#
jacky
I don't tbh :(
#
jacky
all of my efforts/focus is on getting Koype to a point where I can replace Jekyll with it
#
jacky
eager to see what people got
#
aaronpk
anyone want to create a stub page for IWS 2019 here https://github.com/indieweb/2019.indieweb.org
#
[eddie]
No worries jacky, personal website is more important!
#
aaronpk
or create one for Austin which seems to be the furthest along in planning?
#
aaronpk
i'll launch that today if someone creates the content
#
aaronpk
there's also a handful of low hanging fruit here if someone wants to knock something out quick https://indieweb.org/to-do
#
[eddie]
I can try to put a 2019 page together for Austin based on info on the wiki
#
[eddie]
I’ll put schedule TBD and put registration TBD until Manton figures that out
#
aaronpk
that'd be great
#
[eddie]
I’ll ping you here when I send the PR

Once it’s live I’ll ping manton so he knows it’s available and that it just needs a schedule and sponsors (neither of which I have :))

!tell eddie perhaps consider s/TBA/coming soon and s/TBD// and maybe add a prominent "Save the dates! IndieWebCamp is coming to Austin" instead either at the top or bottom? https://2019.indieweb.org/austin that would be a better placeholder until Manton adds details

Also ^^^ that preview image is way out of date and is not anywhere on the actual page - why is it showing up?

Preview image?

Oh. Slack..?

There are OpenGraph tags on that page, so that would be where the image is coming from

[tantek] I thought an open source journal about blogging research would be an interest to the community, ....it is a journal where scholars publishing their research would do so from their own blogs using webmentions....I care, [chrisaldrich] been interested in samizdat for long time, I will put him the care column. might be one or two more
#
[jgmac1106]
plus anybody could grab the h-card template for their site from there. I tried to keep it clean, maybe I should have used another stylesheet to make it more portable

[jgmac1106] thanks for your patience - getting back to this
#
[tantek]
re: "open source journal about blogging research would be an interest to the community" - that's a good question. maybe? I don't think we did "launch a new blog" type posts in last year's challenge because it wasn't really a "re-usable" thing *for* the community.
#
[tantek]
re: "anybody could grab the h-card template for their site from there" that certainly wasn't obvious at all - using View Source? some other UX? nor was there any wording or even suggestion for folks "hey here's an h-card template you can use!"
#
[jgmac1106]
Yeah... Maybe I should just link to the CSS Grid hcard... I tried to see if I could copy [grantcodes] but it was above my level
#
[tantek]
this is what I mean about it being very unclear what the linked page was supposed to be - what did it do? for whom? why? how was it useful to anyone as a building block? how? with what steps?
#
[jgmac1106]
I was trying to build something for folks with my skill who may want to add lists of peolke
#
[jgmac1106]
Sorry I also had to go decorate Christmas Tree.... Didn't expand post... And fell asleep as soon as kids went down
#
[tantek]
no worries - can always finish it on a later day
#
[jgmac1106]
It will be a #backstage post where I track. My Learings and frustration
#
[tantek]
better to have something clear and useful for folks, than half-complete like that in the indieweb challenge
#
[jgmac1106]
Makes sense
#
[tantek]
also - feel free to add such "in progress" work to a new section (perhaps right before "Inspirations") on that page
#
[tantek]
or rather I can go ahead and do that since I did the revert

[eddie] I didn't fork the repo for online, figured we should wait until you make a wiki page
#
[eddie]
Yeah, sounds good. I feel like Online probably needs a few more details tightened up before we make a page for it
#
[jgmac1106]
I did write a proposed two day schedule (optional day zero for people who need help with stuf)
#
[eddie]
Yeah, I glanced at it but haven't had a chance to read it through fully
#
[eddie]
Thanks for putting it together
#
[jgmac1106]
yeah if we don't get any Aussie interest as organizer we can go with one timeslot for live. so far nobody seems interested...make life easier
#
[eddie]
Yeah, we'll just have to figure out times that work with both US and Europe

maybe a little earlier...would get late in E....but not too much as then it gets too early for Pacific US...we only need a1-2 hours for magical UTC time...sessions and hack times up to attendees
