I'm in a W3C meeting then off to airport then flying — would love it if someone else could help with 1) creating a wiki event page for https://www.manton.org/2019/06/06/microblog-at-wwdc.html including the photo with photosrcalt template (clone from a recent similar meetup), 2) creating an entry on /events for that wiki event page

and here I thought copy/paste/edit workflow was reasonable for all devs 😉
#

#

i did copy paste, but it took a while to figure out what to copy from
#

I haven't kept up, what's the latest on the stuff [schmary] and I think sknebel were working on for wiki events?
#
gRegorLove
[schmarty]
#
[tantek]
nothing on the pages themselves AFAIK
#
aaronpk
yeah that was more about fixing the rollup/aggregation part
#
[tantek]
sknebel keeps improving the automation that creates the upcoming HWCs / IWCs on the home page
#
aaronpk
that home page automation is excellent
#
gRegorLove
Yeah! I thought there was brainstorming about something that would aggregate individual city event pages
#
aaronpk
yeah still requires making individual event pages tho
#
gRegorLove

re: event rollup stuff, i have been working to make HWC NYC city event pages easy to copypaste, removing duplication. i *ALMOST* got it to a point where it pulls the event date from the URL, but got stuck b/c our mediawiki was too old?
#
[schmarty]
or maybe i did get that working but was worried about fragility.

[schmarty], I think "Transclusion testing" on my sandbox is related to what you're talking about, though that was something you were trying to do in the sidebar I think
#
[tantek]
also edited, could use review by someone who doesn't often create events on the wiki: https://indieweb.org/Events#How_To_Add_An_Event
#
[schmarty]
gRegorLove: the sidebar attempt was a failure, to be sure. i was trying to reduce by one the number of places that the next HWC needs to be edited. my hope was to make {{next-hwc}} transcludable.
#
[schmarty]
but my mediawiki chops are quite dull.

i would like a few more people to express their date prefs but so far i'd agree that's the most agreeable date.
#
[tantek]
and/or if others have prefs about that date vs other dates, please add them!
#
[tantek]
putting a soft "likely" in my calendar 🙂
#
[schmarty]
1+1+0+0 isn't exactly a mandate 😄
#
[schmarty]
(and technically it's tied w/ 9/14-15 lol)
#
[tantek]
+2 with 0 -1s does beat it
#
[tantek]
(fewer -1s being a way to tie-break a total)
#

#
