[tomasparks] ^^^ what's the indieweb relevance of that article? Looks like something that belongs on Wikipedia instead

[tomasparks] see https://indieweb.org/wikifying#What_should_not_go_on_the_wiki specifically, "Technical terms."
#
[tantek]
yup there's already a Wikipedia article for it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_computing
#
[tantek]
Uh, looks like the dfn and first paragraph of /green_computing is copied directly from Wikipedia. Please don't do that.
#
[tantek]
I'm going to delete the page. We don't have permission to copy from Wikipedia into CC0.
#
[tantek]
Could someone else double-check and verify?
#
aaronpk
confirmed
#
aaronpk
i'm going to revise the copyright warning to mention wikipedia explicitly
#
aaronpk
right now it says "You are also promising us that you wrote this yourself, or copied it from a public domain or similar free resource." and i suspect some people think wikipedia is a "free resource"

listening to the Mullenweg podcast about WordPress and Tumblr

[tantek]
hmm maybe I need /listen posts

GWG, I heard his "open ... social ... network" reference in the podcast, and knowing Matt, it's a generic reference to things like that that I've worked on, e.g. he mentions XFN, and since then we've done a lot in the IndieWeb, and he may have been referring to the Social Web Working Group that we did at W3C
#
[tantek]
what is SWWG
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "SWWG" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "SWWG is ____", a sentence describing the term)

GWG: jgmac1106 left you a message 1 day, 7 hours ago: I started adding issues to the GitHub repo https://github.com/indieweb/2019.indieweb.org/issues for planning, feel free to do the same
#
GWG
I thought he was conflating multiple tantek projects into one
#
GWG
But we should get the domain.

GWG, Matt and I (and Eric Meyer) developed XFN back in 2003
#
GWG
I know
#
GWG
I wouldn't mind if it had a resurgence
#
[tantek]
it could happen yes
#
[tantek]
though I'd almost rather explore using h-card properties at this point, rather than rel values

[tantek]
vCard4 also referenced and incorporated XFN values, and I think that may show a way to turn them into h-card properties or values for a new h-card property
#
[tantek]
we can that discussion to dev though
#
[tantek]
[aaronpk] did you say you needed to setup a cron job to make the registrants show up on https://2019.indieweb.org/nyc ?

I meant the relationship properties

[tantek]: yes sorry. At some point I should rewrite it to use a single cron job that can be configured from code
