i created a green computing page on the wiki, witch got deleted because I include a quote from wikipedia, I am wondering weather I should recreate the page
#
tomasparks
but without the wikipedia quote
#

?
#
[tantek]
tomasparks please read https://indieweb.org/wikifying#Should_this_be_on_the_wiki and the next section before creating a new page on the wiki
#
[tantek]
and to be clear, it was not a quote from wikipedia, it was copy/pasted content without quotation and without attribution. that's particularly bad

@tomsparks you may want to add info...I haven't found data yet still searching on the size of HTML only pages compared to larger frameworks or sites built using big toolchains
#
[jgmac1106]
in many ways the IndieWeb commitment to HTML makes it a positive green choice

tomasparks: that definition is still copypaste from another website. While at least it's linked this time, that's still not acceptable, especially as the very first sentence of the page. It's better to define it in your own words, and including in the first sentence how it's related to IndieWeb can make it easier to think of a way to rewrite it.

[tomasparks] not sure how else to put this: please stop copy/pasting copyrighted content to the wiki in such whole big chunks. E.g. that was from a page that is "ยฉ 2019 Whitelabel IT Solutions "
#
[tantek]
I'm going to delete that text immediately and any further copy/pasted text

[tomasparks] that's better, now please include the relevance to the indieweb in the definition.
#
[tantek]
Also note that a "how to build" is a "How to" not an "Example". And what one *could* do or *wants* to do is "Brainstorming", not an actual "IndieWeb Example".

what is Brooklyn JS
#

It looks like we don't have a page for "Brooklyn JS" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "Brooklyn JS is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
[tantek]
Brooklyn JS is a monthly meetup in Brooklyn, NY, which occasionally has an IndieWeb related talk, like on 2019-08-15 by {{jackyalcine}}.

Wonder if that means it'll go into next week's or if I posted in that limbo zone between last generation and the query for posts for next week (presuming it looks for 15:00 Friday or later), and thus it won't show up next week either
#
