I have some good footage.

And some bad footage.
#
GWG
I think with some work I can put something up.

Gwg, if we can just record the demo and intro conputer and get a camera on the speaker doing video in video a minor edit
#
GWG
[jgmac1106]: I think I have enough to do that

But then you can't swap the keynote/intro/demo computer
#
[jgmac1106]
Unless you are using that hdmi thing you were talking about... But camcorder or webcam and mic on speaker. Screen recorder... Would do the job

This 2019 homepage project is quickly going to become a 2020 homepage project. Though I've started extracting from the *2018* IWC NYC session and outlining the different levels, meanings, etc.: https://indieweb.org/2019/homepage#Three_Main_Options

[tantek]: gRegorLove left you a message 1 day, 1 hour ago: archived https://indieweb.org/2019/Berlin2/Organizers#Notes
#
[tantek]
Thanks gRegorLove. Now we need to go through those notes and identify key things such as:
#
[tantek]
👥 Decision
#
[tantek]
🔲 Action needed
#
[tantek]
✅ Action completed
#
gRegorLove
Yeah, I almost pulled out some things but figured I'd play it safe since I wasn't there. I was looking at https://indieweb.org/2019/Organizers#Task_List
#
[tantek]
Would be interesting to see your interpretation actually, having you *not* be there
#
[tantek]
and if you're not sure, leave tasks marked as Action needed
#
[tantek]
And if there was a discussion without any decision, we should maybe record that too somehow
#
gRegorLove
Ok. I might be able to review it on Friday
#
[tantek]
That'd be great!
#
gRegorLove
I should revisit https://indieweb.org/Organizers#How_To too and make sure previous Organizers Meetup task lists aren't getting overlooked
#
[tantek]
Having another organizer review decisions/actions that only 3 other organizers decided upon (but for IWC in general) sounds like a good check & balance
#
[tantek]
One thing was clear that from reading /Organizers#How_To , GWG wasn't sure how to actually run the Organizers meeting, where do we start, with what, how do we actually "process" an item, what are expected conclusions from a discussion, how do we know when we're "done" discussing something? or at least done "enough" to record some sort of interim conclusion that can be further iterated next time
#
[tantek]
ok so that was more than one thing
#
gRegorLove
Hm, some of those questions are in https://indieweb.org/Organizers#Process_Issues_at_the_Organizers_Meetup GWG can you clarify any questions and I can work on rephrasing as necessary
#
[tantek]
I think he was just confused where to even start
#
[tantek]
and what steps to follow
#
gRegorLove
Ok, I'll review. I'm doing NaBloPoMo and running out of post ideas so maybe I'll make that one :D

#
GWG
I have some thoughts I may try to write out
[jgmac1106] and [snarfed] joined the channel
#
[jgmac1106]
tantek and the organizers meeting is usually broken into two components logistics for event the next day and then organizers issues....
#
[jgmac1106]
not sure how to address as logistic for events immediate but maybe if it is an "official organizers meet up" it is about bigger issues
#
[jgmac1106]
maybe agenda split in two? not sure
#
[jgmac1106]
but sometimes you will remote into organizers meeting and all the time spent on the event..which is critical...but different..like you need a small "o" organizers meet up the day before an event but every once in awhile a big "O" Organizers meeting
#
gRegorLove
urgent items and next-day items should be added to the Organizer Meetup page directly, by someone attending. That distinction may not be clear vs. the general list /Organizers#Issues that anyone can/should add to.
#
gRegorLove
So general priority should probably be: issues on the meetup page itself, open issues from previous meetup, then the general /Organizers#Issues list
#
GWG
To be honest, when I showed up, I thought we were going to discuss only local matters because we had only 3 people and no remotes. I confess to not expecting us to tackle some bigger picture issues, though I did find the discussion productive
#
gRegorLove
That is a good distinction
#
GWG
gRegorLove: I would also give the feedback that I didn't realize that I would end up moderating. Probably should see if that can be decided in advance if we know who is attending
#
gRegorLove
Like leading the meetup?
#
gRegorLove
Or was there a hot debate? jk
#
GWG
gRegorLove: The person who tries to keep people on topic and move things along. Whatever the term chosen.
#
[tantek]
everyone should try to keep us all on topic and moving things along 🙂
#
[tantek]
it's a good skill for every organizer to embrace and put into practice actively
#
GWG
Agreed
#
GWG
But it doesn't always play out that way
