#IndieWeb https://twitter.com/arikchao/status/1216599380595101696/photo/1

The #IndieWeb wiki-docs are excellent. Feels like how I wish a lot of api-docs read. (h/t @t) https://indieweb.org/Getting_Started

↩️ @jaffathecake Would making it a pop-up Homebrew Website Club thing work? I've tried up here before but I don't know the Uni people.

Very much looking forward to tonight's #TechNott, not least because it'll be the first meetup I'm owning every interaction first from my website in #IndieWeb fashion, as well as converting hashtags to tags on the posts themselves! (https://www.jvt.me/mf2/2020/01/cr6uw/)

aaronpk, just as https://events.indieweb.org/ clusters events by month, can you also cluster events by day?
#
aaronpk
certainly! I guess I hadn't expected there would be so many that it would need clustering!
#
[tantek]
would be handy to see which HWCs are meeting on a particular day when people want to see if there is one in their city that week
#
[tantek]
lol HWC is the canonical use-case for that for years
#
[tantek]
like nearly every other week

↩️ The Indieweb wiki provides a partial take on this, especially their building blocks category: https://indieweb.org/Category:building-blocks otherwise I’ve seen a number of technology-specific primers and “first dapp” guides/books in the last two years.

I noticed IWC Online is on the events site but not 2020.indieweb.org, is that intentional?
#
GWG
gRegorLove: Not specifically.
#
gRegorLove
They do overlap functionally quite a bit at this point
#
gRegorLove
The event site and the 2020 site that is
#
GWG
gRegorLove: With no physical event, seems to be less necessary again
#
GWG
Looking forward to it

Lately on the blog: The IndieWeb and Webmentions http://bit.ly/2QPcYSP

#

The 2020 site is meant to be a nicer formal landing page for the site including the Tito signup form embedded in it. I suspect we'll keep doing that for a while for those bigger events
#
aaronpk
We could redirect the 2020.indieweb.org page to the events site tho since now that list is kind of redundant
#
aaronpk
(Specifically to a tag page that lists just upcoming IWCs)
#
aaronpk
If we want to figure out a way to use the events.indieweb.org pages as the "main" event pages and stop using the year subdomains I'm also totally fine with that too. One less thing to update
#
[tantek]
I'd rather not. the 2020.indieweb page still has better presentation.
#
[tantek]
basically, no regressions please just for the sake of convenience / minimalism
#
aaronpk
Yeah I agree right now but it might be interesting to see what it would take to make the new pages as nice
#
[tantek]
and a presentational regression is kind of the worst because it takes us A LONG time to update presentational / layout improvements
#
aaronpk
not sure it actually makes sense but might be worth thinking about
#
[tantek]
I think it's much lower priority than updating the wiki home page for the three column onboarding layout
#
aaronpk
agreed
#
aaronpk
In the mean time, the immediate question at hand is whether IWC Online should get a page at 2020 tho
#
aaronpk
We usually leave it up to the organizers to decide whether they want that page. Some of the past IWCs have not had a page there at all
