[schmarty] i don't think it's mentioned there but we consider IRC to be the "main" channels. our community (cough, aaronpk, cough) runs a service that bridges to slack and to the web version at chat.indieweb.org. matrix.org runs a freenode IRC bridge for matrix users, so they have access that way.
