what is The StoryGraph?
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "The StoryGraph" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "The StoryGraph is ____", a sentence describing the term)

any experience with The StoryGraph [chrisaldrich] ?
#

Not yet, i'm reading the statesman article now, which has an extended story. I'll take a look at the "silo" shortly.

The description of The Storygraph and how it works does make it sound enticing. And the two prime pain points she cites for users of Goodreads fit me 100%

The tough part for me is that StoryGraph sounds like yet-another-silo that is more likely than not to be bought out by Amazon or some similar player and repeat the same mistakes all over again.

#
GWG
[schmarty]: Attending is my goal
#
GWG
Fortunately, less is required at remote events...although there is still a lot...venue is not an issue
#
[chrisaldrich]
GWG, did you set up the https://2020.indieweb.org/east equivalent site for West and Tito integration last time? Mind doing it again in the next week or so?
#
GWG
[chrisaldrich]: Yes, originally I wasn't going to, but [tantek] pointed out that Meetable can't show ti.to RSVPs
#
[chrisaldrich]
Since the https://2020.indieweb.org/east could show all the RSVPs, should that be the canonical place to have them until Meetable can?
#
[chrisaldrich]
what is meetable?
#
Loqi
Meetable is an IndieWeb friendly open source events aggregator that is used for the IndieWeb events site at https://events.indieweb.org https://indieweb.org/Meetable
#
[chrisaldrich]
I presume we want to eventually have Meetable be the canonical version of the landing page for everything so we don't have to maintain the non-DRY separate site?
#
[tantek]
Also the 2020.indieweb.org site has a more "formally organized event" presentation (and customizability) as opposed to the "casual meetup" presentation of Meetable
#
GWG
[chrisaldrich]: Meetable won't have that built in according to aaronpk, but he said something about possibly adding the option for an embed
#
[tantek]
so we should stick with it for IWC / IWS
#
GWG
[tantek]: I agree, you made a good argument for it
#
GWG
I'll take care of ti.to this week and the site
#
GWG
I hopefully can remember how I did it last time
#
[chrisaldrich]
I do like tantek's point and meetable has the ability to point to the 2020 site(s) to push RSVPs there.
#
[chrisaldrich]
Does having credentials for the IWC Zoom also grant password access to the Tito set up or does one need separate set up for that?
#
[chrisaldrich]
I'll also throw it out there now for some advance preparation, but I'll tentatively propose an organizers' meetup sometime that week prior to IWC East now.
#
[chrisaldrich]
We could do it on the traditional Friday timeslot, but if others have potential conflicts we could always do it at an alternate day/time sometime that week prior.
#
GWG
[chrisaldrich]: You need to have a ti.to account to link in, I think
#
[tantek]
when is IWC East?

I watched @SocialDilemma_ last night on Netflix. It makes me glad the next IndieWebCamp is scheduled for mid-November to help people reclaim their online identity, data, and attention from toxic corporate social media silos.
