[chrisaldrich] Ruxton, as a small point of order, that Smashing Magazine post was written by a community member who "syndicated" the article to the magazine for the extra reach. Her sit supports the spec IIRC. Sadly she doesn't have control over the site to have them support it. I remember trying to talk A List Apart into supporting Webmention when I wrote about it there; I think they're still considering it, but it obviously requires more work on
