aaronpk things I like about the platform IIW is using for the event:

aaronpk the "home" screen has a clear list of all the breakout spaces with links to join the zoom room for each
#
aaronpk each also shows the faces of people who are "in" the breakout room so you can see at a glance the activity
#
aaronpk there's a dedicated "coffee cart" and "snack table" space (mimicking the real-world event that has these) which are for general hangouts and meeting people

[tantek] From #indieweb-chat, this seems like an exceptionally bad idea, due to lack of internet access (nevermind inability to escape infectious diseases), and I certainly wouldn't recommend an IndieWebCruise, however perhaps the "Offline Camp" crowd could make good use of the opportunity: https://news.yahoo.com/unused-carnival-cruise-ship-could-203758641.html (or maybe IIW could use it to try to figure out how to do identity without internet access)

[tantek] (I've been on a couple of these cruises, so I can answer quite a few questions about the experience, limitations, etc. Overall both were quite positive and fun, though I don't think I'll do another due to the contagion vulns)
