Loqi’s !xkcd command is wrong (on the internet) because it fails to do the obvious check for just a number less than or equal to max(xkcd) and then simply return that one

database antipattern page could also use some examples of where file-based stores are superior, rather than database-based stores being a problem; for example, talking about using git or other snapshot-based versioning and rollback
#
[tantek]
what is static storage
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "static storage" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "static storage is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
[tantek]
what is file storage
#
Loqi
File Storage is the practice of storing main (primary) site content in flat files in a filesystem https://indieweb.org/file-storage
#
[tantek]
[fluffy] good examples in there I believe ^ — is there a spot in the /database-antipattern page that could use a link/reference to the /file-storage page's examples?
#
[fluffy]
ah, that makes sense
#
[fluffy]
I see there’s a link under ‘community split’ to that

BTW, given that the Publ micropub client is unmaintained/archived and seemingly abandoned, would it make sense to make the [[Publ]] page redirect to [[Publ CMS]] and/or rename [[Publ CMS]]? I’m not a fan of calling Publ a “CMS” since it isn’t actually a CMS in a traditional sense.
#
[tantek]
or you could make /Publ into a disambig page
#
[fluffy]
There used to be one, but someone deleted it
#
[tantek]
ugh really?
#
[fluffy]
oh wait no it still exists but it’s lowercase-p
#
[fluffy]
in any case Publ is only as much of a CMS as Jekyll is
#
[tantek]
that's worth making that distinction
#
[tantek]
it's a proper noun so the page should be capitalized right?
#
[fluffy]
I guess?
#
[tantek]
been trying to cleanup stuff like that so the page name capitalization can help distinguish a general concept or jargon term from a project or other singular effort
#

[tantek]
hmmm, I'm not sure it's good to make a distinction between lowercase / uppercase like that, it would be too hard to find the right one or the wrong one accidentally
#
[tantek]
There's a way that Wikipedia pages do it, where a page has a "primary" topic and then disambiguates to possible secondary/tertiary meanings, without having a separate disambig page
#
[tantek]
that could work well for /Publ
#
[tantek]
ohhhh I see now the defunct micropub client used a lowercase "publ" as its name. no wonder this is confusing
#
[tantek]
(and I see /Publ already has that Wikipedia style of secondary meaning disambig)
#
[tantek]
let's see what Loqi finds
#
[tantek]
what is publ
#
Loqi
Publ is a dynamic publishing system written in Python https://indieweb.org/Publ
#
[tantek]
that seems to work
#
