stop trusting the silicon valley capitalist techno-utopian bros. use your own brain, use your feet, buy a bike, take the bus, talk to your neighbor, use a carpool, hug your kids, bs with your local shop owner. live a normal life in community and forget these people. https://twitter.com/bcmerchant/status/1442534951765766149

GWG, does archive.org offer any methods for stripping audio out of video uploads? I think the primary reason I miss Youtube as the site for IWC sessions is that Huffduffer video will allow one to strip out the audio track so that they're easily podcastable.

good try Loqi...

investigates the podcast
#
[KevinMarks]
They often offer multiple formats including mp3 eg https://archive.org/details/DWebSummit2016_Panel_Peer_to_Peer_Networks has links to other kinds
#
GWG
I can strip audio. It's easy enough to convert
#
GWG
In general, are people interested in an audio feed of sessions?
#
[KevinMarks]
looks like they don't do it automatically https://archive.org//help/derivatives.php
#
GWG
[KevinMarks]: I could strip audio and upload it
#
GWG
I already often upload two videos
#
GWG
I'm not sure what they recommend

There were only a few times we did screen sharing during the session so podcast versions would be really cool. If it's not too much work GWG, I think it'd be totally worth it.
#
GWG
[chrisaldrich]: ffmeg -i file.mp4 file.mp3 Not hard
#
[chrisaldrich]
I'll also note that the titles of each session are now in the notes if you want to edit/add those as well if they're not there.
#
GWG
Will do it short. And you can edit archive.org metadata
#
[chrisaldrich]
I thought I might need an authorized account for that, but if not, I'll pop in and do it.
#
[KevinMarks]
if you're the original uploader you can add versions, yes.
#
GWG
[chrisaldrich]: It's the Indieweb account.
#
GWG
First file is uploading now
#
[chrisaldrich]
So it's in the one password account set up that includes zoom?
#
GWG
Correct
#
GWG
Do you need the intros as audio too?

I feel like I may have logged into that before, but it's been a long time.

The intro isn't as useful I don't think....

most of that is rehashing of material that's probably easier consumed as print on the wiki

And it's pretty well covered in the notes as text. Would it be more accessible as audio to some? I'm not sure....

#
GWG
Well, let's see how this is received
#
GWG
I could always retroactively add an audio track to other items
