[tantek], /BookWyrm dfn came from See Also on /personal_library. I'm not familiar with it, just moved it there and added the github link
#
gRegor
[chrisaldrich] is probably more familiar. I believe the BookWyrm dev is coming to the personal library popup session
#
gRegor
I took "built on ActivityPub" from its github
#
GWG
So, now that December is over...we move on to 2022 commitments?
#
[tantek]
gRegor, makes sense
#
[tantek]
I'll attempt an edit and feel free to improve

gRegor ^ review?
#
gRegor
https://indieweb.org/personal_library#BookWyrm will need an update too. Main goal was trying to flesh out the Silo Examples on that page and add a Tools section, from the See Also links
#
gRegor
what is bookwyrm
#
Loqi
BookWyrm is a social book reading, reviewing, and personal library site built on open source software that supports ActivityPub https://indieweb.org/BookWyrm

I found a bug in the wiki: see https://indieweb.org/OPML there's an empty bullet point under See Also. That's not empty, that's [[RSS]] in the text.
#
aaronpk
i don't see an empty bullet point, I see "RSS"
#
petermolnar
apparently it's one of my ublock filter lists
#
petermolnar
I'll debug which one exactly
#
aaronpk
it just deletes words on pages randomly?
#
petermolnar
I need to debug it deeper, I can't yet answer that

[tantek]: I've been opposing the /discuss#Chat_Channels_Purposes distinction from the beginning, because it makes the main channel a ghost town
#
petermolnar
and would be nice if instead of collecting cricitism on how crap web3/crypto/etc is or focusing a lot on who is using which channel correctly we'd go back go brainstorming more on how to make the larger internet nicer.
#
petermolnar
the main channel is a perfect place to discuss ideas and to realize what people mean when they describe an idea that to me sounded like a slashdot thing, only to realize they were looking for social readers

What is KISS?
#
Loqi
It looks like we don't have a page for "KISS" yet. Would you like to create it? (Or just say "KISS is ____", a sentence describing the term)
#
zerojames[d]
KISS is short for Keep it Simple, Stupid, something useful to keep in mind when building features for a personal website.

ok, I added "https://css-tricks.com/add-less/" to a brand new "See Also" section of /KISS https://indieweb.org/wiki/index.php?diff=78908&oldid=78907

Apologies for distracting the conversation.
#
zerojames[d]
I agree that we should try to use the main channel a bit more to chat about what we are building / why and to brainstorm on ideas.
#
zerojames[d]
Well said petermolnar.
#
[KevinMarks]
the transition from ideas to which existing work we've done that fits them can be tricky - jampidotnet was asking a 'do you have a way to do this thing?' question with some existing protocol knowledge so mentioning those

@t
I, for one, welcome all the independents speaking truth to power, criticizing organizations when they do or encourage harmful actions, especially in a systemic or global scope. Even better when folks post said critiques to their personal sites. #indieweb https://tantek.com/t5Gb1
